Desperate male players

Pfffft. People thinking they can get relationships online...
Honestly, I've never encountered such problems (probably helps to be named "XIIIGuy" and to be mostly playing a female char, but don't think it helps with getting labeled as a creeper) but I know it can be a creepy experience. How do I know? Old me makes me cringe whenever I look back at what I did (saving you the details, but it was pretty light compared to others, don't worry). My solution to this:
- If you don't know the person, block/ignore
- If you know the person and he/she is a friend of yours, try to make it clear that you don't like what he/she's doing and aren't interested, but try to not offend him/her
- If the above doesn't work, keep conversations short or ignore/block if it becomes too extreme
The thing is that we cannot change how people behave and you'll always encounter creepers, so we have to deal with it and try to make them think about their actions.
I'm taking the opportunity to apologize if I creeped anyone IG, and if I did creep you, PLEASE tell me. I'd rather be really ashamed but learn something than to be left in complete ignorance.

Also, I read the whole thing. Dang, this thread got so many replies in two days! Is this a new record?!

 

I think the title "soft male players" is a bit misleading... Change it to desperate creepers lol xD
Anyways, nice thread but I think the forum community is great and the ones that need to read this are the non forumers running around in rakau and gov. Office!

 

Hey, @Mrjmp15, could you explain your stance on blocks? From all that I've read, you seem to have avoided talking about why you disapprove of them.

I like the pointers you gave, honestly the reason why you block or don't block can be a friendship issue too. There's a few on my friends list that are creepers and occasionally creep on me but the few times that they do isn't going to speak for the entire relationship that we have. Honestly if I'm out in Toram laaate, I'm usually lurking with one of them but that's because it's like adult humor. I said it earlier though that there's a fine line before you cross over to harrassement! It's ok by me until it turns into "no means yes" -thumbs up-

 

But this is a random person issue. Naturally it would be difficult to block a friend (although, if you've already asked them to stop, what kind of friend are they?), but if your harasser is someone you've never talked to before, there shouldn't be any problems arising from blocking some troll who lurks in Rakau all day.

 

I dnt people can block if they choose I was just ranting about something I dnt like that some players do is all

Oh yes! Randoms get blocked IMMEDIATLY after the 5th annoying PM. Tbh now that I think about it, I only have 2 members blocked due to spam/being dicks. I'm pretty straight forward and so the randoms tend to figure that "the force is strong with this one"

You know, idk what everyone is so upset about. I have literally never been hit on by a random guy while walking around Torams world. The first time I read this post I went to go sit in Gov. for 2 HOURS and still nothing. Maybe my character isn't cute enough, or maybe my IGN makes everyone think I'm a guy (because people say that a lot -3- ) But being 100% honest, never ever ever have I been randomly hit on. The only ones that hit on me are my own friends. All I have ever been pmd is a solicitation for money.
