Difference

Guys? Can i ask a thing? What is the difference between using a bow and bowgun? Thanks in advance for those who will Answer ^^

 

I'm not really an archer but,

Bows
- normal attack range is 10m
- higher chance to tumble with the skill 'power shot'

Bowguns
- normal attack range is 8m
- lesser chance to tumble with 'power shot'

that is all i know.

Bowgun has more damage than bow however slower at attack speed & lower range. Since bow skills are affected by ur physical atk then its best to have a bowgun in my opinion.

If you want damage: Bowgun
If you want debuffer: Bow

Shoot Skill wise:
Bowgun as main weapon have higher multiplier damage.
Bow as main weapon have higher successful chance to do debuff.
Other Main Weapon + Arrow : no bonus at all, means less damage than BG and less chance to debuff than Bow.

 

What do you mean by other main weapon? Is it okay for me to have arrows when im using Bowgun? It those affect its damage or not? Need to know somethings on arch character :3 Sorry for asking too much. But thanks anyway if you answered ^^

 

for ex.
1H sword + Arrow
Staff + arrow
Their damage is less than BG multiplier, and their debuff inflicted chance is less than Bow.

 

About Arrow on Bowgun,
Not affect the damage multiplier, don't worry.

But AFAIK,
only half arrow's attack added on BG p.attack,
while arrow's attack fully added on Bow user.

 

Last question i wanna know ^^ Those arrow affect bowgun dmg multiplier?

Actually i am not good at playing DPS archer.
I more prefer with pure debuffer/breaker bowman instead.
*not good at how people can spamming "snipe"

 

If you equip Bow each DEX point increases your attack by 3.
If you equip Bowgun each DEX point increases your attack by 4.
This means that if your ATK with bow is 600, your ATK becomes 800 if you switch to bowgun.
Plus you can equip Heavy Knife as sub-weapon and increase your critical rate.
(As damage output has wider variation with bowgun, you can be doing much more powerful crits.)
(If you are concerned about loosing ASPD, you can opt for wearing the FW Garb (boss version) if you can't afford a GS xtal.)

 

Those daggers really help bowgunner? Should i get dagger skills when i have a dagger on my side weap?

 

The dagger will only provide you with the effects as the CRT+ or STR+, you don't need to buy dagger skills as you won't attack with it. Also, if you can craft Fire Arrow and get Ceramic (nisel wood quest reward) and Tempest (dropped by Forestia) is always good to have them on your bag, some bosses are weak to certain elements and these arrows are elemental, while daggers are non elemental. So you choose when to equip which at your convenience.

Personally,I would rock Storm Dagger instead of Heavy Dagger.
Also,I feel like the slow effect from Spike Dart activates more than Moeba Shot's slow effect.Might just be me.
(I have dagger skills and they are quite useful for cramming in a little more damage,since Throwing Knife overlaps with the normal attack cooldown if used directly after the normal attack,resulting in 1 extra hit during the cooldown. Also lvl 10 Throwing Knife uses 0MP,so it's basically a free spammable skill.)
