Different style of play...

    TBH I've never really been a fan of Combos. Or more specifically combos higher that 2-3 in the combo. My preference would be away to be able to spam a skill in an order and get a desired result based on (maybe a passive combo)
    I.e. 1st skill starter, 2nd skill will (always be swift), 3rd (always impact- if MP allowed).

    Or skills such as mana stock that you can greatly boost you next skill i.e. a triple damage Storm.

    This is what I used for my arrow HB:
    GSW (opener) > Arm Break (Save) > Quick Aura (Swift) > Impact (Cons) > Chronos (swift) > DT (Smite) > Finale (Smite) [1mp]
    or without arrow: GSW (opener) > Chronos (Save) > Quick Aura (Swift) > Impact (Cons) > DT (Smite) > Finale (Smite) [1mp]

    Long combo like this is easy to be interrupted due to Chronos range is 4m. This often works out well to continue my DPS while waiting for MP charging up like: 5mp DT > combo > 5mp DT > combo > Decoy

    Even my bowtana also have to use long combo and split half way out:
    1mp > Snipe (Save) > Tenryu (Swift) > GSW (Swift) [1mp]
    Now this is either used as Snipe for blast my charged CF or get closer to target then slash my tenryu out quickly in that 10 sec frame.

    Or I can fully commit to long combo like my DW:
    GSW > Shining Cross (Save) > Quick Aura (Swift) > Shadow Step (Cons) > Storm Reaper (Swift) > Enchanted Blade (Smite) > Backstep (Cons) [1mp]
    This works out rather well for double DPS skill for only 1 MP.

    Or even my semi-tank dagger finale:
    1mp > Astute Dance (Save) > Backstep (Cons) > Throwing Dagger (Swift) > Impact (Cons) > Finale (Smite) > Smash (Cons) [4mp]
    This help me to keep spamming the stupid finale until it finally hit

    I always put tons of combos and skills in my 2 shortcuts tab, just in case when something doesn't work then I can switch play style in middle of battle.

    Yeah I know how you feel and actually that's the reason I don't like long combos. Is interrupt. Then all yer MP is gone, and until recently, getting it all back was hard.

    my longest combo is 5 skills (1 mp combo) on both my arch & 2h
    my shortest combo is 2 skills (3-5 mp combo depending)
    in all my combos, i always use smite tag.
    long combo has save in it to preserve mp.
    both my chars have 2k mp so i don't have an mp issue in parties, unless my whole pt dead or i keep getting interrupted for mistiming my cf.

    Yep and this is why I don't like PTing so much. As a semi glass cannon I can do damage, but I may die due to these reasons. I'm not a fan of using rev drops during normal farming. =)

    Imo long or short depends on the boss and party, some bosses spam moves rly fast and shorter combos are ideal while some are slow or very predictable at that point long combos can work, I try to use certain moves raw like decoy because I am always looking for that small opening to put my strategy in place. If my my generation is good I don’t bother saving mana at all.

    idm pt dying, it's the fun of it. most of the time i'm farming w/guildies and i collect their souls as they die :)
    i am a glass cannon kiter but thanks to guildie hp food, i get an additiona 3.8k hp which helps me a lot to be a lil less cannony

    Got a taster for long combos with this char of mine:

    Super long combo but 0 total mp cost allowed me to spam it indefinitely

    Can't wait to see how they enhance the combo system later :rolleyes:

    Generally i tried to keep all my combo as fast as possible since i need to prorate asap before using my combo again (Motion speed is important for me)
    But if the boss is stationary, i don't mind going all out with slow ass combo (2 smited skill or more)

    Pretty much the Meta

    We have the new combo system making multiple short combos viable. I haven't seen much build that uses longass combo aside from long range style Halberd with their 1mp combo

    Try to add some skill that make U change position or U can walk while usimg combo in a middle
    for more surviving rate :)

    I often jump into Boss AOE too LOL but funny :D

    If new combo system added damage boost for every combo like skill at combo1 +5%, combo2 +another 5%, without tag used can boost up to 100%, with tag can boost about 45%-50%, it’s should be nice isn’t it?

    For change Position >>> Backstep / Assault Attack or another skill that change position after using


    For walk while combo >>> more skill that have range for activate / Rampage for 1H&2H


    For parry, jump or evade attack >>> such as Dragon Tooth / Meteor Breaker / Dive Impact and some in DW+Mononofu skill
