It takes so long to max a skill, I want to be extra sure. On a side note, does disabling skills increase the other enabled skills leveling rate?

If i remember correctly, skill boost only shares exp between skills so its good for lvling passive skills - in short, yea, it does help lvl skills faster.
Disabling unwanted skills makes pet only use mp for skills u need, so it also technically increases lvl up speed a bit.

skill profiency increases based on kill count. disabling skills does not redistribute exp on other skills. disabled skills just don't get exp.

pets use skills whenever possible, so if you want your pet to use a specific attack, disable all other attacks with lower mp cost. otherwise it will always use low mp attacks and not accumulate enough mp for higher mp attacks.

in addition to kill count, active skills also get exp by being cast in battle.
the skill boost type shares this exp with all enabled skills, so a high mp skill (such as Magic Lance) will get exp from casting low mp skills (such as Clear Mind).

the required exp for the next level doubles after each increment from the starting level.
whether skill boost lowers the multiplier is not confirmed yet.

If ya want to get tons of kill count for your pet skill exp. Best you teach your pet aoe attack skill. More the pet can "touch" more exp it get.

    Thank you for the info.

I created a gentle pet (couldn't find gentle with skill boost), and farmed 15m on SS with 1 hit kills. In the picture, the skill levels are all different, but the percentages are identical.

When it was mentioned that each skill level doubles from the starting level, are you referring from the the level it was acquired, rather than starting from level 1 to 10?

If so, the difference between learning a LVL 1 and LVL 5 is tremendous.

On a side note, the does Discipline Success effect the rate of skill increase in any form? I recall a very long time ago the devs. added a "Skill Up Boost" among EXP, nature boost, etc. I remember having it once, but it was removed like the day afterwards or something. Perhaps it's still available if you feed with Orbs?

Yes, having a skill starting from Lv4+ is more advantageous and less time consuming to level.

Wow, then Skill Boost/Gentle pets should be the most valuable item on the CB.

Not really, because skill boost has trash stats overall so unless youre planning to go full trottle and fuse the pet at least 3 times, u might aswell get pdef/gentle pet and lvl skills for a bit longer. Its gonna be faster than lvling 2-4 pets to lvl 120+ (and youll still need skill lvl ups for 2 of them).
Skill boost has overall stats of 50, while pdef gives you those initial 120 vit for survival later on.

Also most ppl placing pets on cb dont know shet about pet stats, they just saw some random youtube videos or glanced at some guides in best scenario (some combinations are totally trash, like dodge, but they put a 100k tag on pet because its devoted...so what lol, its gonna have vit20 initial stat, will you fuse it 3 times to get that vit up, or just buy that other pet with good stats for 150k? lmao)
Same thing backwards, bought like 50 pets from cb with good combinations (because you WILL fuse it) at 5-20k each, then started catching myself, cuz i needed more than i could buy...

Every pet start off as a blank slate. You can build and mold one to your desire and/or need. The big difference is the level cap and pet app/skill comparability. Like this pet app got an red arrow up on one skill and you plan to utilize such advantage in the long run(and boy, every step is a friggin marathon if you ask me)

One target = one kill so yes it is much more productive to hit pova than hunt a mini boss or a boss. Since they are basically the same.
