Does luck affect blacksmithing?

I'm pretty sure I heard that blacksmithing is affected by luck (namely, stuff like 2 slots are easier to get). Does this actually happen, or do I not remember correctly?

 

2 slots, huh. For making weapons and armor, much better option to just pour points into stats that boost potential instead of something that's never been confirmed (AFAIK)... need to ask someone...

The value of the weapon will be garbage
You'll fail most the time
2 slots are extremely hard to +S

Better to go mainstats+tec

 

Why that link got more crap than an unflushed toilet? I mean vit smith is fine and all but dex smith cover more gears as far as potentials go (thus more profit). And combining statting to regular gear smith?

LUK doesnt do jack to slot rates. It is just a sad excuse of a "proven" statement made my our toeram expert mugami years ago and which has been disproven many times already.
Even if by some miracle it does indeed affect slot rate its chances are not nearly as high to skip the success rate from TEC just like isra said.

It was proven to affect it back at level 70 cap but as Mayam and Fin said it isn't worth the failures/wasted materials plus things in the game get reworked constantly so by this point it doesn't matter if or when it may have because it has no affect now. Just to thoroughly test it would take too long and they can change it again before you even get conclusive results so just take Tech unless you're using the character for +A/+S refine an farming.

 

fun fact: i was part of the investigation about this and had access to the google sheet with the test data. neither LUK nor TEC had any effect on the slot rates.
but for some reason access was revoked and the results were never officially announced.

 

2 slots are for people who are blessed by RNGesus. Keep praying. It is all about prayers not LUCK.
