Does str really matter?

I've been thinking about distribution. Str gives raw atk and crit dmg.

But when you want to become a knight or use a dps skill that is vit based, does str really need to maxed out? I just need some opinions or ideas that will enlighten me on what path should I become.

opinion from me

need more damage? increase STR
need both hp and damage? increase VIT

 

str adds critical damage, but most 1h boni on blade skills depend on dex.
shield boni depend on vit.
the atk growth is the same, but dex also adds accuracy and cast speed.
overall, dex is better for it's many effects.

 

So I should just put points in dex and not str as a 1h swordsman?

 

IMO, most of your damage as a semi-tank Knight should come from spamming binding strike (fast animation, easy 600k+ with str>vit, and helps you hold aggro). I'd definitely go str over dex. You're losing like more than 25% damage overall just by going DEX

 

Ty I will keep putting str. I don't necessarily have to be a tank but i do want to use a sword and shield.
