Elite Member

I have seen several people obtain this highly coveted feat and have analyzed how it has been done. This will be ranked in order of speed, efficiency, and popularity o. how it was obtained.

1. SPAM : Quickest and easiest way to obtain. Takes little to no thought and spam rules aren't enforced.

2. Obliging Opinion : Fast because this is opinion formed without much more needed than that. This does take more time to construct the post than does spamming.

2b. Followup : Often times when a post (most likely an opinion) has a response the aforementioned post will be clarified with fact, opinion, or spam. This is usually how a flame war begins and quickly raises your post count. This one requires a previous post that is why it is placed under the one it is most seen with

3. Service / Information : This is where the post takes time, effort, and provides something beneficial to the forums. This is the most difficult way to ELITE MEMBER.

Most often what occurs is that people will not solely rely on just 1 or 2 of these methods, but a combination of all of them. Some are more likely to favor 1 route over the others, but will from time to time jump to another route. After all is said and done, the only true way to get the status is to make 1000 posts.

Is it weird that everyone that has elite joined really early? Is it bad to get elite within a 5/6 month time? ._. ( Talking about myself. I seriously had no intention of gaining elite by spamming )

 

i was thinking the exact same thing! i've been here since july and i haven't even gotten mine XD
and i remember how hard it was to even reach 500 posts LOL

 

It took me since the first couple of weeks to do it. But I something I have found is that 2a and b Is what I found alot.

Btw.. I saw a niche in the market... "Off Topic"... Kept me motivated for Toram too.

 

6months later, im still not elite. #doomedToMediocrity

 

I started in the first week that this Forum opened. Was quite active for a while. Then stopped for a while as I lost motivation due to slow release of updates in game. Also I was a bit busy with guild. But I haven't played game as much. Or if I have I have been sitting in GB chatting lol.

 

I've been on the forums since forever. So eventually you would get it.

 

850 posts left until elite for me.

oh, i'm more of #2b and #3. helping others and replying to get a tough road to elite.

 

But aren't you already elite?

 

It's a cool feature, but I don't see why people purposely spam to get the rank. Each to their own

 

And i dont see the benefit by getting elite member emblem... so why ppl rushing to get that emblem?

 

You miss one thing: Sell stuff those are demanded by market.
You will need to track your thread often and reply often.

To look cool maybe? IDK, I don't see the different except I can put my IGN there and it's has gold banner (yellow actually, feel like to gorgeous it up )

 

Maybe people just wanted to be noticed? Who knows. Interesting discussion here though.

Elite's goal is pretty simple, to reward active members with a little bit of customization and reputation of being a long-time (more or less) forum user. As an outsider looking in, Elite members seem like the most respectable members and their opinions will be given more consideration than others, strictly based on post count. The yellow banner under your name serves to highlight your post from the very beginning.

However, we forums users are aware of how to obtain Elite Membership, thus giving us the whole picture on the positives and negatives of what an Elite member actually is. 1,000 posts does not guarantee quality, and on top of this, 12,500 character posts and 2 character posts are weighted exactly the same.

Elite's goal is activity, not fairness nor equality.

 

I have been very active lately, was at the start of forum too. But then had a break. There wasn't many members to talk to then...
