Flooring (Housing) Question

I seem to remember in some places I've visited different types of flooring were used. In other words, two or more different types of flooring are used on the same land. How is this done? For my own place, I want my stone flooring to be used. However, in the dojo area, I want tatami mat flooring. It seems I can only put one or the other. Can anyone tell me how it's done?

 

You can find tatami mats under the "RUG"menu. Only one item can be place on a rug, so you may want to leave a bare space near the walls to place furniture. On my land I have a dining room with two large tatami mats filling the room with a low dining table on each mat. It is simple, but elegant traditional look.

 

I see. So you have to use rugs then. They have a tatami title but I guess it's useless then unless you want to cover the entire area.
