Geeky xp Stuff

People keep asking questions about Leveling, MQ and xp. Many can be answered by using data from these two charts:

MQ experience Rewards (through Ch 11 Mission 7)(Velum).pdf
xp requirements, level 2 to 200.pdf
xp requirements, level 2 to 250.pdf (added 2019-12-04)


Both have running subtotals. So, for instance, you can determine the amount of xp to be gained by doing a series of MQ missions (it is the difference of two subtotals from the MQ Experience chart), add that amount to your current level total xp (determined from data in the xp requirements chart) to find out what your level will be after doing those MQ missions.

Example:
Suppose a player wants to level a new full TEC char to level 160 and save all skill points for smith and alchemist trees. Without damage skills, the player can still use mercs to mob-level to a certain point and then finish the MQ. This particular player also wants to be able to open chests as she grinds through mobs, so she does MQ through Mochelo as soon as the character is created.

Total MQ experience through Seele Zauga is 173.84m
Total MQ experience through Mochelo is 0.169m. (168.53k xp can be gotten in very little time from "not very many" high level mobs, so might as well take the time to do Mochelo right from the start, because it will take about the same amount of time if it is left until after the mob-killing spree is over.)
The difference is: 173.670m xp to be collected by finishing MQ.

The total xp requirement to reach 160 is 516.156m. So she must fight her way to (516.156 - 173.670) = 342.486m.

342.486m total xp falls between lv 147 and 148. In other words, 147 and then some. Lv 147 requires 337.418m xp.
(342.486 - 337.418) = 5.068m (this is the "then some")
The xp required to get from 147 to 148 is 11.674m. So...

5.068/11.674 = 0.434 is the fraction needed to get from 147.00 to her target level before doing MQ.
147.434... let's say 147 and 44%. MQ would take her to lv 160, maybe a bit over due to event battles and non-reward xp earned.

Even geekier!:

It turns out that the total xp requirements can be calculated using a 5th-order polynomial in the target level variable X.
(X**N means X raised to the power N below)

Total xp = (X**5)/200 - (X**4)/80 + (X**3)/120 + X**2 - (37/30)X rounded to nearest integer.

The xp required to go from current level Y to level (Y+1) is

(Y**4)/40 + 2Y -(93/400) rounded to nearest integer.
