GunBlade Build

Hello!
i've been experimenting with a hybrid build based on dexterity.
we all know that certain weapons scale with specific stats.. in this case i always loved the short musket gun (looks like a revolver), but i also liked the dual wield swordie.. so i've been experimenting on a hybrid class called the "GunBlade". its a character that allows you to use 2 distinct 'classes' when you use either a GUN or DUAL SWORDs for different tasks (NOTE: you need to switch weapons between DW and GUN).

The DW is used mainly as my farming regular mobs, while the gunner is used for bosses. i do understand that this build may not be the best DPS, but it allows me to fulfill 2 of my fave 'classes' and merging it into 1 character slot!
this build is still experimental so i have many points left over. i will update this thread as i find improvements to this build.

Stats (LVL 70)
DEX- 146
left over points - 50 (still considering if i should go towards AGI.. considerations include more ASPD/DODGE for both DW and GUNNER; increased DMG for off hand sword)

DUAL SWORD MASTERY 10 (max to reduce penalties)
TWIN SLASH 5 (still considering if its a good skill to max; at the moment set as prerequisite for SPINNING SLASH)
SPINNING SLASH 1 (still considering if its worth to max for AOE; at the moment keeping it low so that my damage output is minimal so that i can keep the monster alive to activate EARTH BIND to level up my combo points)
DUAL SWORD CONTROL 10 (increase ASPD and reduce penalties)
GODSPEED 10 (*not sure if this is even useful; will need inputs from you guys to advice on this skill; EDIT: thanks @Islandi, im adding this once maintenance [18Dec15] is over)

-- tumbles boss, giving you some time to cast SNIPE. As SONIC WAVE is a long range skill, it works well with SNIPE when far away.

BULLSEYE - SONIC WAVE (consecutive)
-- immediate attack, followed by tumbing Boss, giving you some time to keep your distance

-- gathers mobs with EARTHBIND then finish with SPINNING SLASH. Monsters that are not killed will be finished by EARTHBIND on next set of combos, as well as gathering new monsters with the same combo run (EARTHBIND and SPINNING SLASH will do the work of gathering and finishing monsters depending on how much HP they have left)

this hybrid build is for those who favour the DW and Gun Class and mashing the skills up for AOE farming and Bossing respectively! enjoy!

 

you mixed DW and gunner on one slot??? can you use DW skills with bowgun?

Samm, you are going to inadvertantly confuse some folks. Just a heads up

 

haha no no, dont get me wrong...
you cant use DW skills with BG, and you cant use BG skills with a Sword...
you need to change the weapons to suit the different tasks.. the build just lets you utilize dex/agi as a common stat to switch to either Gun or DW...
in this case the same character uses DW to farm mats and normal mobs, while Gunner is used for bosses.. its just an experimrntal build for fun XD

i ran out of char slots and also since having more slots cost more orbs (currently at 5 char slots) i dont wanna buy any more orbs haha.. so... this is the product of saving money, and making two of my fave chars

 

ahh so meaning to say you can switch char without really switching? did i get it right? hahaha

 

hmmmm godspeed for bowman?? if it works it wud be cooooool

 

any advice on Godspeed?
im still wondering if its a useful skill to add on

Godspeed activates evasion attacks and First Draw attacks. So with high eva %, you get to deal "auto" attacks when evasion procs.
Evasion procs significantly when you have light armor, light armor mastery and +eva% gears.

Personally, I think it's useful. It'll be quite a sight to watch your toon "swoosh" and "pew pew" simultaneously

 

the godspeed idea kinda caught my attention... i wonder if it works for bows too... idk how to measure godspeed since it doesnt show up on stats

 

Meaning to say.... snipers shud get ameoba snipe and bow mastery
then get light armor buff and par with godspeed >.< seems cool... cant wait for maintenance to finish hahahaha
other SP shud go survival iguess and battle skills

im definitely one of those types who love to see my char go "swoosh" and "pew pew" simultaneously! hahaha
especially since my character is made to look like a cowboy (GUNNER) and a rogue/ninja (DW)

 

Yep, me too. But with sword(s) for me. You will observe more evasion once you hit char lv30 onwards with light armor mastery + +eva% gears.
It happens with my 1H + mirror shield toon without adding any Agi stat.

 

noted! yeah my knuckle (breaker/tank build) char evades quite significantly well

 

Very Interested build , i wonder it is confirmed ( or someone can verified ) ,that God Speed had effect on snipe skill ??

 

when i saw this thread title, i was like, oh finally someone doing Squall's (final fantasy VIII) build LOL!

 

Haha well it's possible since evade (light) santa garb looks somewhat like squall's costume hahah XD

 

godspeed + reflex + light armor mastery (w/ light armor of course) + double stab + evade gears (including a dagger and a custom bowgun) + pure LUK build XD
