I've looked through the forums a few times, and I was unable to find anything that explained how to hold the agro of a boss for tanking. Any suggestions?

Main rules for tanking. Always get the first hit. Provoke level 10. That is all you need to hold aggro.

    - Always get first hit.
    - Always spamming combo (spam more get aggro more)
    - Wear increase popularity(read : aggro) equipment. e.g : BD cape
    - Use increase popularity(read : aggro) skill e.g : provoke

hope this helps you gain popularity :)

first use provoke lv10 and then the aggro will locked and if the aggro will lost just use rage sword or provoke again, for equipment use fold sword like a fan, shield, plate armor from volg and for mp use warrior ring

Many forum-er was disagree with that tread, but I'm not.

    Provoke lvl10
    = +1000 Aggro base, +200 MP consumption. Total = 1200 Aggro.
So It can hold aggro equal with other player skill with 1200mp consumption.

    Rage Sword lvl10 = +200 Aggro base, +200 MP consumption, Total = 400 Aggro.
Can be place as combo, so you can reduce the original MP cost woth consecutive or tenacity effect.

My combo for Rage sword to maintain aggro=
    Hardhit lvl1 > Shield bash lvl1 (consecutive) > Rage Sword lvl10 (consecutive)
    Total aggro = 600 Aggro,
And the MP consumption used 100mp only.
Worth it IMO, the Aggro just equal with Provoke with additional flinch + stun.

If you don't believe me, I don't care.

I wouldn't even bother with rage sword tbh. It's a waste of mp you could be using to cast provoke again. I'm telling you this because I have an evasion sword tank with 0 aggro equipment and I always have aggro. I just always make sure I have 2 spare mp and cast provoke whenever the boss turns away. I always have enough mp after to recast provoke when it leaves again.

    But... provoke consumes 400 mp?
What should I do to maximize my MP?

it depends on your type of tank. Also, at level 10, provoke only consumes 200 mp.

    Full Consecutive effect combo of:
    Hard Hit/Astute>Astute/Hard Hit>Rage Slash>Trigger Slash/Spiral Air>Trigger Slash
If you don't want to be using a 5 hit combo just drop Spiral Air. This allows you to help with Breaking and DPS while tanking. Also this does actually outdo Provoke Spam Aggro unless maybe you do everything you can to stack as much MP as possible and MP charge multiple times between bosses. Provoke still has uses for stuff like Forestia/Gold Skeleton that have high dodge though.

You can also keep aggro really easily as a Knuckles user with Smash>Sonic Wave>Bash>Shell Break. Enough to steal hate from a Provoke spammer at least.

Literally the only classes that should ever steal hate are 2H Sword users and Knuckles users from a tank build with Rage Slash. That 2H Sword Aggro is real though.

Use magician ring, cuz u tank.. U dont need atk so much..
U need survival skill, knight skill, shield skill
    Other skill up to you...
    Base tank
    1. Use Provoke (lv 1 for 400 mp is enough) or lv 10 for 200mp if u have spare skill point.
    2. Then combo assault lv 1 enough>bash lv 1 or 5(save/consec)>gloria its up to u(save/consec)>mp charge lv 10(swift) if u have enough combo
    3. Do combo again, stand still, or regen your hp and party.

If u have other option its up to you...
