How do gems work? When to use them?

Hello everyone,

I had this doubt for a pretty long time so decided to clear it although it sounds quite nyoobish but will feel better once it's solved.

How do gems work? By gems, I mean any gems-be it those bought from the resistle merchant npc or from recycling avatar items.
(I just have a fair idea that gems increase boss defense and many of them boost drop rate.)

But my main doubt is "When do we actually use them in battle?"
To clarify my question more, if a party was doing multiple runs (10) against a boss, when do member(s) use gem?
Is it at start? or In between? or by the end? of a number of runs

Well i just can say that it all depend by the person.

There is mainly 2 type of gem you need to know
One is can be aquire from npc such as normal gem, dex gem, mana gem and etc.
Another one is obtain from recycle avatar, open avatar chest, open item chest,potum dart and etc

For someone who want to more faster and safer run, they use gems that can be bought from npc such as normal gem, normal gem II and etc.
For the rare gem like strength gem+,super rare drop gem and etc, they often use it for getting the things they want. The super rare drop gem, legendary gem and etc is to boost up the opportunity to get their desired item. And for the strength gem+,victory gem, infinity gem is just make sure the run for the gem run like super rare drop is much safer and faster.

At the end, i just wanna say, use the gem whenever you feel want to, even if you solo
