This video shows how the orb item "Extraction Crysta" works.

Extraction Crysta is an Orb Shop item that lets you remove an xtal from your gear instead of destroying it.
Menu > Character > Equipment > Edit Crysta > Select Equipment > Edit > Use "Extraction Crysta"
