If you have high alchemy, is there any reason to level the skills that increase success rate?

Likewise, are the synthesize equipment skills even needed if you have 4 lock?

 

You don't need all three skills for 100% lock4. Just put 5-5-6.

 

Lol you need this, unless you want to risk failing and losing something. With 255 TEC my success rate with lvl10 lvl10 and lvl5 customization skills were 80% and something.
I'm unlucky AF so I need 100% just to be sure.

I don't have lock 5, I wish I had. but I know that for lock 4 I needed to max two synth proficiency skills even with 255 TECH. That's for sure.
You can assume you will need prof skill lvl4 next for Lock 5...

 

lock 5 is 80% max success rate with full tec, max all skills. In my opinion, better just use duplicate and lock 4. That 80% is not 80% total. It's 80% for each lock, similar to statting.
