It seems mage are super op now and it can crit finale , so I saw some YouTube videos of Yuki Senpai..... She/he used int>str not int>critcal rate ... Is str really better then critcal rate? I didn't understand the concept as you all know I can afford all 2s critcal eqips and xtal for my mage chara and all dte staffs too or enough prime piecer staffs if necessary , but i never created a critical finale mage before, the best one I did with my mage was int>vit mage with lot of support skills ... But I am bored with the build now ,because I can't get the rank 1 with my mage chara which isn't a nice thing imao ,if I can build a better damage mage it might be worth it even if a cannon glass low hp/low m.def mage , so looking for some guidance ._./ if possible please help me out ....

Int>Str for sure. Max CRT nets you 75% crit rate then divide it by 4 then it will only give you an abysmal amount of 18% crit rate!! You really didnt want to waste 247 stat points for just 18% crit rate dont you. At least STR can give you 12.5% stability if you dont crit. Also there's no consensus best crit mage build as pretty much everything is experimental and also magic crit rate conversion is very awful I really dont advice going for full 400% crit rate.

INT STR sure give greater critical damage but RNG unstable (Testing Finale Crt build in finstern wrong because finstern mechanic have high chance to often magic crit. even without spellburst can also crit there)

in overall boss. INT STR is not stable DPS (you cant get stable attacker 1 if you rely at low MCR Rate because you only rely in Lucky Crit)

in short if you have 100 CR=25 MCR. your Attacker Rank 1 is also 25% only

while INT CRT can give you most stable crit RNG since its possible to build 100% MCR (so if your damage is consistent. you can possible get consistent attacker too.)

Note : Finstern while being stunned. can give higher chance to Magic Crit (thats why INT STR can crit often there)

    (Using Only Finale)
Overall Boss = INT CRT>INT STR
Similar to Finstern Mechanics = INT STR>INT CRT

But perfect build would be INT STR CRT (to able to divide stats. because xtall, equip is already fix while player stats can adjust every 1 point)

Isn't that 255 critcal rate + 30 critical damage + 75% critical rate? Rather the just 75% critcal rate at 255 critical rate stat?? .... I thought Yuki Senpai didn't had any mirror refection to reset the stat to critcal rate ... That's why she/he put stats on str stats for CD ,and I didn't knew str gives stability too .... I thought only dex stat gives stability... Now I am more confused tbh qwq

    Basically,
INT > STR is High Crit Damage, Low Crit Rate
INT > CRT is Low Crit Damage, High Crit Rate
It boils down to RNG too badly

    ^^^ Yes This ^^^
Crit Finale has much better RNG in particular bosses. It wouldn't translate well anywhere else.

Say you only have 150 CR, 25% Conversion Rate, that's only around 37 Magic Crit Rate. Would the increased damage of reduced hit chance make up for your lost Matk?

Can't believe Id say this but I'd vote for INT CRT.

This is true although keep in mind, 255 CRT Stat gives 75 Crit rate to your base CR. Which means your base Crit Rate will be 100, and thus CR% from gears becomes useful as CR% = Flat CR. This is why people use CRT and then use Eyeball Ribbon with 50% Crit Rate, because that's +50 Crit Rate right away. 20% Crit Rate from Armor and weapon is also an additional 20 Flat Crit Rate.
But ofcourse It's true that 25% Conversion Rate is terrible. You only benefit from 25% of all this Crit Rate you're getting.

You need 400 Crit Rate for 100 Magic Crit Rate, but perhaps a "Good Enough" CR is going to be enough. 400 CR is incredibly high. Don't Sacrifice too much Matk for it. Since if your Matk is low, your base damage will be low, so will the effect of the Crit Multiplier.

So like 5m damage is just a qwq troll on finster ultimate ? Its like getting a golden chest from shop ?lol that sucks ... My non crit finale at Gravicep is 1.3m 1.5m rn, build int>vit not even int>dex .... Because vit is good for high survivable rate qwq , looks like finale critical isn't for high level bosses ... Just to farm low level bosses for xtals ... Oh well will just make the easiest build with high flat critical rate , from red iron staff or whatever it's called , and I don't actually need str for a little CD ,CD on equips (arm, weapon and addi)with good xtals will be enough I guess qwq for a decent 300 critical rate finale mage with 4.8k matk build qwq rip my spina ... There is another way too for critical finale with ohs + md , seems like it doesn't need 400 critcal rate ... 100 critical rate is enough with divine blessing ,if qwq I can't get rank 1 with staff will gotta switch to ohs+md build for critical finale

im OH+MD main and tried to compare it with Staff using Finale (in every possible way)

    OH+MD Benefit
    -Enchant DTE 10%
    -Astute+Berserk+Punish Ray 150CR
    -INT = 3MATK
    -Conversion not affected by MATK%

    STAFF
    -750 Power
    -Overall MATK% Work normally
    -INT = 4 MATK
    -extra stats/skill from sub

Staff still give greater damage even i sacrifice more stats to achieve 100% MCR

vs OH+MD even 100% MCR using OH skill to increase MCR without much sacrifice

the only thing would good for OH+MD either Burst Critical (Pure Mage) and Imperial Ray (this one might be best) because OH+MD can easily crit now (Dual Crit The Initial Cast and Bomb) using Element Slash with the help of Blade Skill and Imperial is also give boost using ATK

According to guy who test Imperial ray skill info about imperial ray

    Initial Cast Skill Rate
    10 multiplier
    400 constant

    Bomb Skill Rate
    20 multiplier
    400 Constant

which make using smite in imperial ray the skill rate would be like this

    15 Multiplier (Smite)
    400 constant

20 Multiplier (Not Affected by Tag)
    400 Constant

If M.warrior 4 turn to be sucks. i would build this Imperial OH+MD

Of course that's where they'll show it off, It is still possible to get a lot of Damage from a Finale though, but non Crit Finale has terrible matk scaling. I heard someone get a maximum of 2mil Finale on 7k Matk.

I wont say that just yet. Finstern isnt the only "high level boss" we have around here

Budget friendly option but dont expect a chance for Attacker 1 rank on this cuz no
Low wep atk with low Matk stats, dont expect it to perform as well, but it's good if you just want to try it up
Also I dont recommend Kuzto on weapon xtal. 7 CR wouldnt make too much difference.

    Divine Blessing?
Ive never heard of this skill before :/

It's really hard to get attacker 1 using Mage cause Finale is terribly slow. If you want attacker 1, just get an Archer and be a CF like everybody else.
Also, staff gets more power for FInale than MD, but Idk about this Divine Blessing skill you mentioned. I'd like to hear about it

=_=' my bad it was punishment Ray (halber skill tree) not divine blessing lol I mixed up Monster leg skills to toram skill ewe sorry about that , might have confused you ....

And I was talking about critical mage being used on low level bosses ,what I meant was farming low level bosses such as decel, roga, imitator, and other bosses which are expensive but easy to kill and have low hp ,low budget eqips with 1s gears with red iron staff might be useful on those bosses because even if it's low base weapon attack it's better with those bosses , the intention is to get as much attacker rank and kill the boss asap , so that can keep moving forward 200 kill each bosses uwu for there xtal ... Market might became unstable ,but those who work hard will keep earning spina ... All those classes need to worry about ampr and food buffs but mage is the only class which doesn't need to worry about those things ,just join a party and keep farming

if decoy is not ampr machine. maximizer should be a top tier mp healing because decoy can do 24/7 unli heal. while maximizer force you to pause. this is why mage is easily outclass by physical class (how ironic that mage is weaker when it comes mp healing)

Imagine if decoy rework to actual decoy (like decoy taking your aggro instead if your the highest aggro in party) they should connect decoy to sneak line instead

im sure people they will rant like in Smite rework (and most of them is same person)

Maximizer is still a good MP regen skill for Mage. 3-4 secs pause restores almost all your MP and can very well cover the high cost of Finale, or give you at least 3 Fires on Magic:Burst. Not to mention mages dont need to worry about AMPR at all, tho I'd agree Decoy gives Physical classes a big advantage. Considering bosses like to punish Physical Classes tho, It's probably ok. Ironically it's the most broken on Archer, the one tree it originally belongs to.

Decoy Spammers lose their advantage to mobile bosses tho, that's when Maximizer can start to shine.

For me, crit mages are highly relying on luck(irl)/"RNG" especially staff with md as sub weapon. I made a crit mage with 315 int>str>crt and has 70+MCR with [weaken] ailment from element slash, and I'm quite disappointed. It's like upgrading crystas without extraction (75% is too low or maybe I'm just really unlucky). Also that resonance skill, if only we're given a chance to select which buff we need (as I mentioned, staff md crit mages highly relies on irl luck), I would select that +75CR (if md+S) because a LUK mage finale is soooo better than crit mage finale if it seldom crits (RIP ranking rewards).

So getting back to your question, it still depends on your resources (just like almost all classes) if you invested in cr% equips and/or crystas(such as volgagon), int>crt(or some str) will be nicer than int>str. But if you want an almost once-in-a-blue-moon OP damage *stares at some youtube clips* (in most of the mobs/bosses) int>str is the best with cdmg% equips(someone said cdmg% is based on your base cdmg which STR stat increases it).

    Hi Hi
    Im just curious
Are you using Finale or Burst?
Cause Weaken only lasts 5 seconds
Finale can't fit in that 5 seconds iirc
But I could be wrong, Finale might make it in that 5 second window

Cause if not, your Finale's MCR is only 25% Conversion Rate from Spell Burst as weaken wouldnt be active when Finale hits

Weaken is only for Burst (Current Strongest Element Magic)

Weaken will not work in Finale because is neutral (only elemental magic)

    Yes
Which means Three O's MCR is not 70 but actually way less than that
Which explains the terrible Crit Finale RNG

Only thing benefitting him is the Chance to get a CR Boost from Resonance
But That is even more RNG

    Smh....
    So much RNG.....

I use that ailment mainly for burst. Maximizer>Element Slash(Mind's Eye)>Impact(cons)>Burst(Smite/Swift)>finale(smite) depends on the boss
If there's another staff md person, I prefer using finale swifted or with gsw.
Edit: Yes I really agree with that "RNG" resonance, I hope they will fix it by adding some conditions for a particular buff (I don't quite expect it but it would be great if so).
    Examples are:
    -If you used resonance when HP is below 51%, you'll gain Crit Rate buff set;
    -If you used resonance when MP is below 51%, you'll gain the MATK buff set;
-If you used resonance while affected by atleast an ailment (such as Kairiki Ignite), you'll gain the remaining buff set (I don't remember, maybe CSPD).
OR maybe just put it in settings (just like manual guard and evasion) or "EX skills" menu (just like adjusting familia's colors and appearance).
