If I have 110% ailment resist, if I use Kaririki Ranshin, will I still ignite myself?

Should be no though I haven't tried it myself. Area hazards(Blazing Graben burn) that bypasses Recovery can be blocked with Ailment Resist. Kairiki burn can be prevented with Recovery.

That means you can use kariki ranshin without burn ailment with 110% ailment resist.

The problem is you can't cap ailment resistance to 100%.

    Yes you can.

    255 MTL stat = 75%
    Mushroom cap = 20%
    2 Seraph Machina crysta = 6%
    Total = 101%

You can also get lucky and get 5% from avatars using fairy sewing tool.

Ailment resistance has no cap? It's really useful then. Isn't it capped at 90%?

Yes, well cap is 100% because more than that does nothing.

It's a pretty popular tank build actually. No more annoying ailments(Fear, Bleed, Poison, Burn), No more getting interrupted(Flinch, Tumble, Stun, Knockback) which makes using perfect defense easy.

Just sharing my experience, 100% ailments resist is much, much better than 90%. My tank has 97% and it still gets ailments from time to time, whilst at 92%(I'm using aggro gears so its compromised), Titeres small red aoe can still gives you fatal damage, and red line aoe can knock you back frequent enough

Yea, the ignite wont happen, I often cast recovery on kairiki users as a tank and no single HP dropped

Ah, you meant the resist. I didn't really test it myself either. But yea I think it should not inflict damage

    Lemme answer for the OP:
Yes you'll still ignite. Self inflicted status ignores your Ailment resist, same goes with Megumins Explosion. You will be stunned 100% of the time with that

They don't burn because you have 100% ailment res?
No, recovery just totally nullifies ailments (excluding interrupts) before happening. Recovery≠AilRes

Of course 100% is better than 90%. It's obvious.

Great alternative for a bg mtl tank, if you can cast kairaikiri and decoy shot(provided that you cast recovery first) all you get is the good stuff and not the burn. Specially since harpoongun is now on circulation.

I think kairiki is a dps skill? And mtl/ailment build is more like a defensive i think. If you a dps class, dodging atk radars, a bit of HP, auras/buffs from others might be enough for full dps survivability in most boss/difficulty. Focusing on 1 role is what i always advised to further maximize the build's role.

Kairiki adds crit rate, ampr, and self burn. The extra crit rate is handy for those who are not using toy hammer, drills, harpoon bg or the production dps that has tech instead if crit.

Edit:no crit rate my mistake.. I was thinking of meikyo buff when I wrote this.

    Copypasta'd from @TheXIIIthGuy 's post...
    Kairiki Ranshin
    Lv 4 Skill; No Limit
    MP Cost
    : 200
    Damage Type: None
Skill Effect: Cast Ignite on yourself for 5 seconds (level 1)/ 6 seconds (levels 2 and 3)/ 7 seconds (levels 4 and 5)/ 8 seconds (levels 6 and 7)/ 9 seconds (levels 8 and 9)/ 10 seconds (level 10) with no Resistance Time
    Buff Effect:
    - ATK +(10 * Skill Level)
    - Attack MP Recovery +6 (level 1)/ +7 (level 2)/ +8 (level 3)/ +9 (level 4)/ +10 (level 5)/ +16 (level 6)/ +17 (level 7)/ +18 (level 8)/ +19 (level 9)/ +25 (level 10)
    - Increases your auto attacks' Skill Multiplier by (0.05 * Skill Level)
    - Critical Rate of Garyou Tensei +(10 * Skill Level)
    - Physical Pierce of Garyou Tensei +(10 * Skill Level)%
Buff Duration: 5 seconds (level 1)/ 6 seconds (levels 2 and 3)/ 7 seconds (levels 4 and 5)/ 8 seconds (levels 6 and 7)/ 9 seconds (levels 8 and 9)/ 10 seconds (level 10) OR until you use Garyou Tensei
Game Description: "Release the demonic power inside. Increase ATK/ Attack MP Recovery/Normal Attack Power. Enhance Defense Pierce/Critical Rate of Garyou Tensei. Inflict [Ignition] on yourself when activated."
Katana Main/Sub bonus: auto attack Skill Multiplier boost +0.5
Katana Main/Sub bonus: Buff Duration is tripled
If Rampage is active, the First 10 Auto Attacks Skill Multiplier is increased by the Skill Multiplier boost, but not the Final Blow Skill Multipliers
The auto attack's Skill Multiplier boost only applies to the main hand of Dual Swords
Critical Rate of Garyou Tensei and Physical Pierce of Garyou Tensei should be understandable...
