Just New to the Game...

I just started the game not long ago and i wanted to build bowgun and shield because it seems unique. I choose the warrior job or can advice me other build? Because i wanted to be a tank that can help people or solo.
Can i get some reccomendation how to build it?

you can't use swords, guns and shields together, just 2 of the 3.

Oh yeah sorry if it is a missunderstand. But what i mean is i that i wanted to make bowgun and shield build. But i already choose the warrior job from the beginning. And is bowgun shield is better or 1h+ shield or 2h. If i i wanted to play tanky by party or soloing.

they are all good, with pros and cons. it's a matter of preference.
2h and bowgun are more offensive, while 1h is stronger with utility.

bowguns get all of their attack from DEX, this gives you more freedom in your stat allocation.

Long Range Mastery increases the damage of all skills with a maximum range of 8m+ by up to 10%, regardless of whether you actually cast the skill from 8m distance or not.

Shield Cannon deals greatly increased damage if it successfully stuns the target, the attack multiplier scales with VIT.

Bullseye ignores 60/80/100% of the target's defense on the 1st/2nd/3rd hit.
the power isn't high but it deals consistent damage even against tougher enemies.
since stun from Shield Cannon has a long cooldown, this is a good alternative attack skill.

Snipe has the highest attack multiplier until lv150.
Arrow Rain is also quite powerful and hits multiple targets, but it's a placed skill, so it is unaffected by short/long range damage modifiers and a few others.

Cross Fire (lv150) is the most powerful attack in the game.

shield passives enhance your defense/resistance/hp.
Protection/Aegis affect all party members, but make sure they are high level when using both together or the resistance will decrease.
Guardian protects your allies, but lowers your damage.
Guard Strike hits back when you block attacks with guard, this can make up for not being able to attack when guarding and it hits all enemies that attack you.

Quickdraw makes your mp last longer by occasionally returning 100mp every time you spend some.
Decoy Shot (lv150) doubles your auto-attacks and ampr.

the elemental shot skills have supplemental effects.
for bowguns, Paralysis Shot is useful as it increases stability by 10%.

^ don't just slap all those skills together. they are just suggestions, make your own choices.

 

alright thanks. so i don't really need to follow the first job i choose i just can make them to whatever i want to build right? thanks i think i'm gonna change my stats point then..

 

hell no!
the weapon you choose at character creation allocates 1 skill point to the first skill of that weapon skill tree.
if you started with sword but want to play bowgun, create a new character and start with bow.
then to craft your first bowgun, you need materials from the rats in land under development.

 

alright thanks but if i wanted to continue with my warrior, i only need to craft the bowgun and reset my skill and stats point right? because i wanted to build tank DPS

 

today is the last day of free resets.
normally you would have to create new characters and delete the old ones.
you'll also get 1 set of reset books for free, but don't waste them on low level characters.

you'll get a total of 4 character slots for free.
