So I have played Toram since it came out, but around level 60-70, I started to get stuck with progressing. I started as a hunter using a bowgun, switched to dual wield when it came out, but I could not beat the Masked Warrior up close without dying in 1 to 2 hits, so I switched back to Hunter, used an AI tank/melee partner and basically kited the boss around for like 7 minutes. I also would still get killed in 1-2 hits.

I am currently level 71 and on the main quest Ch 4: The Creeping Shadows - The Sacred Gem in Akaku. When I fight a level 67 Sandfish, it takes me 15 basic attacks to kill them and they deal about 12% damage of my HP. I know there is better equipment, but I am having a hard time grinding for the materials or getting a drop because I have bad luck and it takes me a long time to kill enemies without dying.

Any advise on leveling or getting new equipment to help me level? Thanks!!!

Here are my current stats and gear.

-reduce difficulty from normal to easy at the start of the fight

if that's not enough to get it done
-collect event gears from the current crossover
-crossover event would also be a spot to find and "friend" higher level players (a good friend merc can cake walk MQ)(alternativey, guild)

crossover event is entered via potum out front of the government building in sofya

You may wanna learn some of the game mechanics right at this point in time
    First is the easy difficulty
Second, you can take a strong attacker merc who can kill those things in a few attacks

    Third, stat distribution
but DONT use your Reset Book for it
Just start again with a new charachter and ask a Guildie to boost you, they can get you to lvl56 in like a few mins legit.

Basically Toram stats work like, you have 1 or 2 main damaging stats, focus all your points on that

Join a Guild and some Discord Servers they can help you a LOT

So you've been playing Toram since it came out in 2015?? And what happened to the Sofya's talisman that was given to you for free?

Are you a returning player? Your post from 2018 said you were lv 69.
Btw now that you got to lv 70, have you bought skill tier 3 yet?
If you have problem finding spina for now, you can leech in farming mino skin. People like to do duet run to maximize extra reward distribution from killing boss. By leeching; I mean you suck up to a high level player who can one-shot mino at ulti difficulty by partying with him/her. You just do auto attack to get breaker 1st rank.

Might update if you respond, but this is a really barebones run-down of some things that can help you early.

First off. Let us know how much spina you're working with so we can get an idea of equipment that will be good for your situation. Also, is this a GunFu build? (Bowgun/Knuckle, triple kick, Snipe and such?)

Second. I see that you're trying to boost dodge in an attempt to increase survivability. Good attempt, but unfortunately dodge needs a very high AGI base to use dodge somewhat effectively and is overall, pretty bad in this game overall.

Third. You'll want to focus on getting equipment and skills that boost your HP and critical rate. These will be the easiest way for you to increase your overall success outside of mastering dodging attacks with the new evasion system. For early game anyway.

Some cheap gear you can use.
    Additional Gear:
Fairy Hat - +800 hp. (other stats are meh, but you need HP)
Sitting Beemo - +1000 Hp, some CRT (Might have it in your bank/mail/free gifts, if not use Fairy Hat)

    Special Gear:
Dark Knight Amulet - Cheap, 400 MP -25% aggro.

    Consumable Items:
Vita Plus I and II - +500 hp/+1000 buff respectively
Speed Boost - +250/500/1000 ASPD buff. Sold on board

    Survival Skill Tree:
HP Boost - 1000 HP + 20% of max HP. 15 skill points to max.

These gears should be cheap regardless of server and help survivability and skill usage by quite a bit.

There are plentiful Crit equipment with 15 to 25 crit rate increases. I don't have their prices on hand, but there should be some cheap alternatives once you feel yourself missing too much. Which should be happening soon.

Since you've hit 70. You may want to consider making a new character in one of your character slots, so that you can effectively adjust your characters skills/stats more easily worrying as much about skill points. Your choice on that though.

Bowgun is a good starter weapon.
Just dump all of your stat points to DEX.
After that switch to STR up to 250.
    Then continue fill DEX again.

For equip, I only know bear hat or shaved ice hat is good. They give critical rate which is important for all physical weapon. U don't need to get the slotted one immediately.
Get a ring which give lot of mp.
All additional and ring without slot is very affordable.

Another thing which newbie don't know is the food system.
You can steal your friend food which give huge stat boost.
Go to terminal > your land > visit friend/guildmate house.
You can also cook by yourself, but they will be low lvl (need to be lvled up)

at least buy a Talisman for a few spinas at the General Store.
a player crafted weapon with blank stats? the increased weapon atk is only effective at high refinement levels. otherwise a regular weapon should perform better.

any stats on knuckles in the sub weapon slot have no effect. appearance is all that matters, here you can use blank player crafted weapons, even failed ones.
i guess you are taking AGI for the weapon bonus to martial skills? good.
most people would advise STR for critical damage and stability,
but that's better suited for arrows or daggers.
as a knuckle user you would want speed.
light remodelled armor is also helpful, even with low AGI, as it also adds a flat amount of aspd and dodge. (and it enables evasion)

you need 5 STR for 1 critical damage, and even more to raise stability. STR crystas are ineffective on this build. DEX would be most efficient on bowguns, or use MP crystas if you don't get enough from your equipment stats.

the Survival Skill MP Boost also gives 300mp for 15sp. this is very recommended, the Town Guard in the Library also says this.
    proration.
with every hit, your auto-attack damage decreases and skill damage would increase.
if you don't have equipment or skills that add additional damage to your auto-attacks, you cannot fight effectively without skills.

How about you check your own post occasionally, rather than coming back the next year or two asking the same question on a new post. You also have to play the game regularly.

grab a merc and do main quest.
There's no point about "asking about equipment" when you're both unable to farm spina or have access to late game NPC gear or mob/boss drops.

Ask some people with good mercs to add you as a friend then do every boss on easy and finish MQ with powerful THS mercs.

I've done it on blank accounts (for gem run in megiston) barehanded (i discarded all my gear because it looked ugly) quite easily.

    both.
    both is good.
    (actually i'm serious)
base mp is 100. you get +0.1 from INT and +1 from TEC.
why would you not recommend it?

If I were a newbie I would have preferred to use up my spare skill points on other useful skills like impact, and if he's a bowgun dps he needs more sp to get skills like satellite arrow in the future. 300 mp in exchange for 15 skill points is too small imo, can always get magiadd 3 from npc store for cheap instead.

Well newbies don't know about Food buffs, xtals, equips, potions, etc. yet
so the simplest way to answer a newbie's question about MP is that skill. 3mp is still pretty nice.

The ppl who have played it long enough doesnt like the skill cuz we know there's better ways to get MP. Newbies just don't know anything about it yet

They get a book of obli or a free reset event eventually anyways so yeah

Also, Sat arrow unlocks at Lvl200 smth ryt? by that time I think he got enough SP to spare but I get your point

not at lv70 in El Scaro, though.
with MagiAdd II that makes 300 max mp. even with impact (which i do not consider worth 22sp just for combo use) most combos would still require at least 4 mp bars if you don't use the save tag (which greatly reduces damage dealt).

Impact is not worth it in my opinion on non Magic builds.
First 15 skills points aren't even used, even by the mage class themselves.

And I think one extra MP bar is not much of a problem if you have good MP Regen. Breathwork/Swift Attack are fine.
For tanks, Rage Sword is fine, since it also gives aggro. (One instance of extra physical Proration hardly makes a difference)

I'd also take the negative Proration with Deadly spear rather than 15 skill points.

Katana doesn't even use a Smite meta.

Investing in an Impact stargem is expensive, but I think 22 skill points are worth it. There are better enders than Finale.

Also, A opener - Breathworks (save) - > Chariot (Smite) -> Throwing dagger(swift) costs 1mp and I can spam it much more (punctuated by throwing knives in between) than a 5 MP combo that also costs me 22 skill points. Yes, it does less damage than a full smite, but the overall dps is constant.

MP boost is good to increase MP initially. But if you only want AMPR, Chakra is a much better option than MP boost.
