Masked Warrior (hard) hitting well outside its range

During one of my runs of Masked Warrior, I encountered a bug where Masked Warrior can hit me from 34m away from them, the skill instantly killed my mage (Naturally it has low defense, so that's not the problem). The problem is two things:
1 - The range of the skill, there's no way a melee attack or range attack can hit 34m away from the target.
2 - There's no indication of a skill being used while they are doing the attack.
Further problem, I couldn't even make him flinch even once during the 10 times I died to that skill. The one time my helper revived was also instantly killed during the same skill, and my helper is a tank with over 20k HP.
I'm not saying it was always 34m away, but most of them were at least 13m away. It isn't lag either, otherwise I wouldn't have reached 34m away from him when I got hit by the skill. I was running away since the start of that skill and reached that far, and still died.

I don't know what red mode is, but he was doing it since the start of the battle.

 

Also let me make this more clear: 1 hit, not multiple. Just the 1 hit did 20k damage.

 

Oh sorry I got this confused with BKOD. You meant masked warrior.
not really sure what to say about this, it has been years since i fight that boss, but I do know when he does the charge up into the unleashed fury attack he hit pretty dang hard.. if that what you mean even if you do runaway from it, u won't escape it cuz that how it supposed to be. Pretty dumb, but yeah

 

Yep, thats why I hate masked warrior on guild maze with my gsw DT maze runner. Skills like meteor breaker also works the same that it will hit your target if the enemy is on the range by the start of the attack animation, unlike crossfire or finale

 

when he starts screaming, he will use the 'Rampage' skill. it locks on the target, so you can't walk away from it. he hits you multiple times with increasing fractional damage (based on your max hp). the total damage may exceed your max hp, so you will surely die if you don't have a healing item ready before the last hit.

refining your armor/add lessens the damage a little and the attack can be cancelled with Knockback.
