How good Ice Cap + Handmade Cookie is ?
Did is only good for Nightmare/Ultimate or every situation because katana has low base Atk?

 

As a general rule pierce, that is magic or physical piece is only useful at nm and ultimate, more so I
Ultimate. For katana imo pierce not needed so they have garyou which has 100% pierce so you’re better off doing like most and increasing unsheathe and cdmg. As a side not garyou is not an unsheathe attack so if your build is around that skill cdmg is better

 

Your real Atk is equal to your base attack x 1.5 if that attack critically strike so basically Katana's attack is not that small though (much bigger than Bow/ Dual Sword/ Knuckles/ 1h/ Bowgun).

About Ice Cape with Cookie, it is extremely good for bosses that have a lot of armor (not all Ultimate bosses having about 1800+ armor like Venena though), Full Beard/ Top Hat will be the best gear for minibosses farming and Normal/ Hard/ Nightmare bosses.

 

I know about garyou had 100% price but problem in here is i use tenryu only

 

Either learn Garyou Tensei or grab yourself a 4th anniv katana IX NPC version with (Ultimate Machine + Grecia) and you have to make sure that you have pp on avatar as well. My katana already have 92% pp so I don't even have to worry about DEF, the only biggest enemy is phy resistance from bosses.
