Need answer

I started playing on January 10, since then, I've made multiple characters testing out different classes. Eventually, I settled on full int mage with sub character of Katana (full vit, defense merc).

My strategy is to attack the boss first, fall back, let my merc take aggro, then bombard the boss with my strongest spells. I know it's not the best strategy and it's useless at the Hatsune Miku event.

My question is, will I go far with this playstyle? Or should I change my playstyle?

As for your question, no, your playstyle wouldn't work too long. Remember you're playing an MMORPG, and eventually you're gonna have to play with people.

But, that's not the core reason your playstyle is wrong. You're dependent on the merc drawing the aggro.

• Aggro determines whom the mob attacks.
• Initiation of combat increases 200 aggro points.
• A skills MP cost = Aggro points generated when using it.
• Normal attacks = 20 points.
• Switching aggro to other players generates more 200 aggro onto the new player.
• Since you're new, your Katana Character likely doesn't have skills that generate enough aggro quickly, or even enough HP to withstand the boss' attacks.
• You're a mage, you can't afford to gain Aggro. You can be interrupted mid-cast.
• Too many magic attacks make the boss somewhat used to magic and they deal less damage.

Here's what you can do.

• Befriend someone with a high level tank Character to use as a merc. Those have High HP and can generate a lot of aggro.
• Mix in some basic attacks to make sure the boss isn't used to receiving magic attacks.

Remember, different classes specialize in different things. Miku event is impossible to do alone. You need a party of actual players, not NPCs.

 

Get 1hs+sheild build!
For bosses like minotaur 1 hit kill
With a powerful 1hs+Sheild
Impact+shield throwing(smith)+finale(smite)
Can get easy mino skins to make anti-degs!
Also can use book of darkness with this build ! Demon claw can deal decent damage!
@-@ next we have best meta classes Dual sword and bow/bowgun!
Both have high survival rate and useful skills to easy kill bosses ! Can also use book of darkness (physical attack skill tree )
Playstyle lol don't make me laugh those aren't necessary, human being can do everything if they put enough effort to it !
Katana,mage and knuckle classes aren't that useful because those class have issues on there skill trees ,you just have to understand being weak isn't fun ! And morality and discipline is useless in a game , because everything is fair if your the winner ... don't let other's judge you , there not worthy ... just use everything and reach the top , None will be able to bully you anymore!
Also don't sacrifice too much power for critical rate,damage and ampr ,most important is Vit and main stat !!
