Need help with Gears and Combos

    Hi. I'm quite newb with everything about equipment, xtal, and skills to use. Recently, I've been leveling up at Venena NM with random parties, but I feel like all of my skills are weak. Like when other party members do Meteor Breaker, I can see a significant decrease in Venena's/Pillar's HP, but when I do it, it's almost just a scratch... qwq

    I'm using an S-refined 2s 2H - sword, atk 373, with Gwaimol and Mardula xtals (Atk 7% STR 7% Critical Damage 7%).
    Armor is with Def 86 with Iconos xtal (Critical Dmg 7% Critical Dmg 15 Critical Rate 15 Critical Rate 15%)
    Add Gear is Tyrant Mask with Def 110 and Proto Leon xtal.
    And Special Gear Dexterity Talisman 3 with Tapir xtal.

    Please see if there are any equipment I should toss and update. If my equipment isn't the problem it's maybe my stats/skills/combos qwq

    Stats is STR (255) DEX (150) CRT (35) VIT (17)
    My Combos are
    1. Hard Hit > Warcry (Cons) > Astute (Cons) > Impact (Cons) > Meteor Break (Smite) > Trigger Slash (Cons)
    2. Holy Fist > Astute (Cons) > Impact (Cons) > Berserk (Cons) > Trigger Slash (Cons) > Rampage (Cons) - this is when I only have 200 MP and I want to fill it up again to use combo #1
    3. Impact > Meteor Breaker (Smite) > Trigger Slash (Cons)

    I'm level 174 currently and with 28 skill points left so I can still learn other stuff if anyone recommends anything. My attack stats is 3316 and maybe this is too low..?
    If there is anything you can recommend to make my performance better, please help! Thanks in advance!

    i don't see anything wrong with that.
    boss stats are multiplied by 4 in nightmare mode. perhaps the others that do more damage than you have physical pierce on their equipment.

    proration is another factor.
    if done right, you can deal up to 2,5 times more damage, but if done wrong it can go down to 0,5.
    simply using impact before meteor breaker doesn't magically balance things out. do you also use auto-attacks?

    Thats a lot of physical skills there, you need to do considerable amount of auto attacks to balance it out. Or you can change physical skills such as hard hit, holy fist and astute with non physical skills like ad-lib, reflex and combo filler like quick aura. Trig slash is good to boost your ampr if put at the end of the combo but you can reduce the amount of physical skills as much as possible. You're not even using a save tag to save mp ehy would you use a train combo?

    Your equipment isn't updated, better get a new 2h with updated stats, even if it's just +S 1 slotted, same with your armor, we have 8%atk10%crtdmg,+20crtdmg,+20 crit armors now, you can also use full beard for additional, and for special use muscle talisman or dark talisman power.

    Also, your first two combos doesn't make sense, you can use this combo instead to boost ampr and get mp: hard hit or astute>rampage(save)>berserk(swift)>warcry(cons)>trigger slash(cons) this combo will boost your ampr to get mp quickly by autoattacking, your combo 3 is already good as dps, I also personally like to use this combo for dps: 1 mp starter>buster blade(smite)>impact(cons)>meteor(smite)>trigger slash(cons) or finale(smite), this combo costs 7 mp bars but is quite efficient as dps combo imo.

    About your stats, it isn't recommended for 2h to get crit rate stats, you would need 3.4 crit to get +1 flat critical rate, so your 35 crit rate only gives around +10 flat critical rate, better put those on str or dex instead, or even vit. 2h already has skills like berserk and astute to get lots of crit rate, or if you need more you can use bear hat as additional and get a critical rate food buff.

    Thank you thank you all for the replies! QwQ I always do proration. If I recall correctly, it’s doing auto attacks after a combo and then do a combo again, then auto attack, repeat process, right? I do that all the time *^*)7

    I should probably change the combos then. I saw I have quick aura, but I didn’t even use it then qwq I dun even know why I had quick aura probably old me knew much better.. Guess I just have amnesia about everything in Toram...

    And also thanks for all tips about combos and gears *^*)7

    also another question... about Finale (smite) in combo, I checked that one out but it requires so much MP my original MP pool might not be able to do that qwq how tho... is it the equip you use..? Thanks again in advance

    Smited finale is used to cancel the combo. As you won't be able fo cast it even at 2000mp.

    note about forcefully cancelled combos:

    you don't get combo exp for combos that end prematurely.
    natural regeneration will not activate after battle if you used a combo that ended prematurely.
    (this one can be fixed by changing maps, so it doesn't affect boss fights)

    Your 1st combo is for a less mp cost Meteor compared to the 3rd one, right? If so, you could try this 1mp Meteor combo:

    Ad-lib/Reflex > Tempest (save) > Warcry (con) > Quick aura (swift) > Impact (con) > Meteor (smite) > Finale (smite)/Trig slash (con)

    Tempest has magic proration which is quite helpful if your pt are all physical class, the other buff skills won't ruin your pt proration either. Use Finale as ender if you want to end your combo quickly to move away from danger, or Trig slash if you need better ampr.
