New guy here, seeking for guidance

Hi all! I'm new to the game and i'm interested in building a Halbread character. I've found a guide named 'Lancelot - Halberd Build Cap 170'

But also noticed there were 3 stickies in the wiki:


My first question here is which one is more up-to-date? And in case there are few variants of the play-style, which are them (summary)?

Welcome to Toram Online and the forum. Cap is level 205 now, so consider looking for builds starting up 170+. Of course, that doesn't mean that older builds are useless now. You can make use of them as reference.

Edit: Dragon Tooth which is the main dps skill of halberd is unlocked at level 150, so do take note of that.

 

Good to know old builds aren't useless, when did the cap became 205? I'm not able to find many builds newer than 2018 out there. Thou i've seen a few in this forum. I'd like to get a summary regarding play styles if possible from some Halberd player !!

many players just blindly imitate what they see on youtube.
people who still make their own choices are rare these days, and those who do keep it personal.

and since most people just want to use only the one latest most powerful skill with the highest numbers no matter what,
there is no variety in builds at all. they may have different more or less edgy names, but essentially they are all the same.
the only recent addition not included in the older builds is the new skill Buster Lance.
the new guard/evasion system that is scheduled to release in a month should shake things up again and bring some variety.

as a new player there isn't much to do wrong anyway. you get up to 4 character slots for free, so you can always make new characters and delete the old ones.
it will only get serious at higher levels, so do what you want and find your own way until then.
(there are quite a few players who got to that point only following youtube videos and now they are unsatisfied with their characters and whine for free resets and compensation from the developer's side for no reason.)

I guess i'll follow the path of the Lancelot build since it's cap was 170, then try again when i'm finished, maybe for that moment there's more info or i manage to get in touch with any Halberd master willing to advice me xD

Your words ring true, especially the last part. Toram is being filled with wannabes nowadays... who wanted to be spoon-fed every single time.
