I just downloaded the game and was about to start it, but lo-and-behold, server maintenance! Thus, I decided to head over to the forums to introduce myself.
So, hello!

Thank you! Saw a few of my friends playing Toram before and it seems fun. I'm sure I'll like it! In the meanwhile, I'll probably go check out the threads about classes and stuff.

don't just blindly copy what you see there. you can take inspiration, but ultimately you should do what you want.

the in-game help is scarce and almost everything is secret. the game is very hardcore oldschool in this regard.
some things are way more simple than they look like, others are overly complex. this has lead to quite a few rumours and fake information circulating in-game. so don't believe everything peope tell you. especially when it's about the LUK stat, weapon types, movement patterns or obscure screen tapping rituals.

you will also encounter some people who have given up on thinking and playing for themselves. they try to copycat stuff they saw on youtube and will shamelessly beg for items and money.
just ignore them. they won't be thankful, and may even become offensive to you if you get involved.

be especially careful around people calling themselves "admin" or "support team". there have been a lot of cases recently where malicious users ask players for their account login info via the in-game mail system.
the actual GMs never directly communicate with individual players, and if they do use in-game communication methods for announcements and stuff, they use fancy coloured chat that is only available to them.

 

Thank you for the warnings! I've read some threads and mostly decided to just play as I want to because I couldn't really understand most of the content since I don't play that many games.

I'll probably go back to the threads just for reference in the future though! Thanks for taking the time to type out all of that, I'll go ahead and enter the game now :3
