New player asking for advice

Hi I am quite new to Toram Online, started less than a week ago. I have some questions about the game and I hope to find out more. I am currently level 116 as a mage. Here are some questions I have.

1. When learning skills at the library, Lilulu says that I will eventually have to pay to learn skills. How is that calculated? At which point do I have to pay? Is it always 0 during the free skill reset campaign? And if so, should I learn all skills I can during this event?

2. What is the best way to level up past the main quest? I heard that I have to get to level 150 and main quest only gets me to 140.

3. What equipment is best? Should I craft from blacksmith? Buy from board? Or farm from bosses?

4. How to earn spinas? I currently have about 200k spinas from selling stuff at the consignment board, which I assume is dirt poor. What's the best way to earn spinas?

5. I'm not too sure what skills are good to learn. I want to know more about skills for a mage and also for halberd (My brother). Any guides you guys recommend?

1. It is free during free reset campaign. Idk how it's calculated. The only time they're free is on free reset campaign, so as soon as the campaign is over, you will have to pay. Don't worry though, it doesn't cost that much, only 500-5k spina each skill tree. And yes, you should learn all skill tree you need while you can, it saves you some spina.

2. By killing bosses

3. Definitely the equipments from the consignment board. For low level though, you can just use mob dropped gears or craft from the blacksmith. So once you know how to farm spina, definitely go and buy gears from the consignment board.

4. 200K is nice for a beginner, give yourself a pat on the back for that. The best way to farm spina is very subjective. As in, it's different for every people. Do you want to just get spina quickly? Do you want to get spina but also enjoy the process? Different answer for different people. There are spina farming guides for beginners out there on Youtube. Definitely check them out.

5. a. Mage : Get Impact Lv7, this skill will allow you to halves the next skill's MP cost, at Lv7 this skill casts instantly. Get Storm Lv10, great DPS before Finale(Lv4 Skill) and arguably the best skill to use for farming. MP Charge Lv10 is a must for mages. Get Magic Mastery to Lv10 for extra MATK and other magic attack related-stats.
b. Halberd : If your brother is also a beginner, I don't recommend this weapon for him. It requires a lot of resource for it to be efficient. But if he likes it then sure go for it. Get Halberd Mastery Lv10, Deadly Spear Lv10 would be good since it has 100% Chance to Critical and has 25% Pierce at Lv10. Get Critical Spear Lv10 for Critical Rate increase.

If your brother is willing to take it one step further and actually commit;
a. Get a dagger as a sub weapon
b. Learn the Dagger Skill Tree, then learn Spike Dart Lv10
c. Learn Punish Ray Lv10 and Strike Stab Lv10 from the Halberd Skill Tree
Proceed to use this combo:
a. Manually use Punish Ray
b. Use combo: Spike Dart>Strike Stab(smite)>Flash Stab(consecutive)

The thing with spina spina is once you share one method, the prices drops drastically. To make it simple, farm crafting materials. That's pretty much all there is to it. Popular equipments and its materials tends to get overfarmed, that's why some prefers to stockpile or look for unusual materials that are still bought.

Regarding the halberd build, there is also an option to go for Buster Lance/Grand Buster Lance. It requires Punish Ray to be cast once first, but can pretty much be spammable later because of bonus from Punish Ray.

 

I'm a beginner here and I've decided on going for a dual sword build. And so I've been seeing a lot of stat distributions, skill builds and I'm quite lost here. my question is that how should I distribute my stat points since I'm around lv 55? should I just distribute equally on all stats and for the future how should I allocate my stat points?

 

dual wielders should focus on str and agi. agi gives some atk and aspd, str gives more atk and crit damage. you can either put everything in str and max agi later, or put everything in agi and max str later.

 

So you mean to say i should just dump everything in attack and agility only. what about the other stats though?

 

usually you make up for the other stats with equips and food buffs, and some are kinda useless for dw, like int. That's pretty much how everyone distributes stats in Toram, dumping everything in two or three stats xD

 

Min maxing is the trend here in toram(heard that term from bofuri lol) focus on the attack stat of your weapon, the skills and gears will fill out the rest. Hence skill build is the main structure not the stat distribution.

Till now I had been distributing stats pretty much equally so should I reset them and distribute again from the beginning? and other than str and agi I should keep all stats at 1 only right?

 

Best to redo or remake a char. You will find it very difficult to go beyond lvl 100 if you don't. Follow the stat recommendation of your weapon choice (can be found at top of your stat screen) unless you got some unique hybrid builds like staff fu and the sorts.

 

so will I be remaking my character a lot? can't I just go with one stat distribution? and I don't understand the weapon part could you explain?

 

Best to dig around on your favorite weapon class and learn good pointers for your desired build. Mistakes happens a lot bit can be fixed by redoing it from scratch that takes a lot of work, by orb & orb items that takes a lot out of your wallet or free reset that takes a lot of sanity for decision making.

Can stats be reset for free multiple times or is it a one time thing only?

 

It depends on each account. The free reset given is char slots x 2. Meaning, if you have 4 char slots in your account you be given 8 resets. It can be used on stat, skill or your personal stat. It is just you are running out of time tho. Free reset will be off at the next maintenance. Use it or not, it will disappear next time maintenance rolls in.

don't worry, free resets come every once in a while, just stick to leveling until then. when it comes, you can reset it for another build.

 

Yeah... a stack of York's memo is worth more than its Xtal.

Also, Just look for the current highest pot equipment and farm that material.
It'll probably go for around one mil, or half mil per stack. (this is because I've only farmed low-leveled bosses) The harder the boss is, the less people tend to focus on breaks, so higher level boss mats sell for a lot.

Can I ask: will my damage be lowered when I am using a fire-element magic device to attack a water-element monster? (-25%)

 

Probably yes, Elemental damage works in toram as well. Most easiest proof is in main quest. Coenubias are weak to water. etc. Cross Fire promotes dual elements to provide more damage. Finale works in only neutral element. Magic spells change names according to element. They're not just for show (names are for show). certain bosses have particular elemental resistance other than magic and physical resistance. This lowers damage, so Archer builds are considered most damage constant having both armour break and Two elemental damage on CF.
