I am new player and I don't know which class to choose. I want dps class with some tankiness in case I can't find a party and must solo.
I read some topics in this forum. I am interested in 2h and katana class. I also think about mage and archer because people said they are good.
PS. In case I miss any good class please tell me. I am completely new to this. Thank you in advance.

mage for sure if you're new. you can make one int / vit build and be able to solo bosses with insane dps. and it requires the least amount of spina to build.
you can also use the same equips on something like a farmer mage. its always a good idea to start off as mage in any mmorpg !

for learners, there is no contest. Go mage. the idea is pretty simple. get to level 70, get lvl7 impact and storm, and then equip and md(staff+shield for bosses) and go nuts. once you are capped, make another character, or if you saved up skill points get finale and maximizer. I would strongly recommend saving your free resets for a more complicated class(like, tank or dw)

Learn the game first, then look up builds on the classes you like, then try them yourself. you get several free slots.
but generally, here is an overview. for 2h, katana, archer and mage, on level 150.
    2h-
Fairly balanced, you can crank up the build any way you like. Astute and Berserk give you an automatic full crit, so gears are full cdmg. They have some pretty useful skills, like Meteor, which is high damage as well as temporary invincibility, or Buster, which gives you a +1000hp heal.
katana- easily the toughest of all the four classes, especially to start. they have no self healing aside from potions(which are fairly cheap), but they have the ability to nullify a hit with zantei and several skills combo in interesting ways. If you are looking to solo tougher bosses, I'd recommend katana after getting 150.
Archer- Quite straightforward to build, probably just like a 2h but with range at the cost of survivability. if you get to lvl 120(?) you could make a bowgun+shield and use p.def for emergencies. Biggest advantage imo, though, is the ability to freely change elements after getting all the arrows. 10/10 would recommend for budget dps.
Mage-You can pretty much go brain dead with mages.Impact, Finale, MP charge and Maximizer are your DPS bread and butter. run to a safe spot and spam. It does have massive aggro, so you can add sneak or some negative aggro gear, maybe both. or you could slap on a shield, get guardian or what not. basically whatever you feel like doing.with Bloom of peace or sneak and a defender mercenary, you can solo basically every boss, If your merc survives. Given that finale damage doesn't exactly increase by cranking up MATK, you can go secondary VIT, or maybe even throw on finale on a tank converted into a mage.

There are quite a few ways to make these classes interesting, learn and do your best.

For lv3 skills(player level 70) the best classes are 2h, katana, and halberd.

2h has rampage and tempest, both are good for damage but tempest sucks on fast bosses and rampage sucks on bosses that spam ailments.

Katana is a high damage skill called Zantei Settetsu but you need to activate it right before you get hit. It doesnt cancel ailments, but cancels interruptions like flinch, tumble, stop, stun. But it only blocks 1 hit and you need fast reactions.

I'm not too sure about halberd, but halberd has strike stab for good dps but it requires an ailment on the mob for a high critical rate so people usually use dagger or arrow with it.

Mage has pretty low dps because storm, it's only dps skill is placed and sucks on fast moving bosses. You can try Sir Eggs arrow mage.

Archer is ok, they have snipe for damage and smoke for a good mp saver in combos.

Also one of the easiest ways to level is to make a 1h vit blacksmith tank or tank, since you can tank and leech high dmg dealers like finale and cf.

Knuckles are the kings of interrupt skills, very good for solo except on interruption sensitive bosses. Otherwise their damage is lower but still decent.

    Edit: Forgot dw lol, rip
Dual wielders are pretty cool looking and actually can do some nice AoE dps with the cheap 1mp spinning slash, just not good single target dps. You see high level dws do 20-30k phantom each slash but that's hard to reach for a newbie. Dws still get invited to pts but some people will kick you unless you have a stun skill(bash could be viable for full agi builds at lv6 for 100% stun rate, unless the stun rate is increased on knuckles only I forget).

I wouldn't recommend 2h, because the bosses that spam ailments? all of them. tempest is only decent at best imo. katana with shukuchi for ampr and Hasso for mob farm/ Zantei for one on one, Yes, pretty good. archers are squishy af. for beginners I'd recommend Katana/mage.
