    Can I summon a pet to my party if I'm not playing as the character with the tamer skills that caught it?
    I'm trying to choose the 3 main classes/characters I want to play as can someone critique?
    1.) dual or 2 handed with blacksmithing
    2.) bow with taming
    3.) magic device or staff/shield with synthesis

    Magic for farming, bow because I like it, and dual/2 handed for close combat. Does it matter which classes learn blacksmith, tamer, synthesis? Doesn't seem like it.

    What would you recommend, dual or 2 handed? and magic device or staff?

    Are other classes really much worse at farming?

    1. You can summon a pet regardless if you have the tamer skill or not
    2. First of all, a dual wield and a 2h is usually built as a dps and not tank, as they can't equip a shield to boost their defensive stats, but to each their own playstyle i guess.
    Second of all, if you're super new to this game i wouldn't recommend mixing 2 job in 1 character like tank+blacksmith, it can be really difficult for new players to manage the stat and skill points. I suggest making a different char with blacksmith and synthesis and maybe tamer if you have enough skill points
    Third of all, if you don't already have a mage, make one. It's important. Not only they have one of, if not, the best farming capability, it's also the only magic oriented class in the game.
    3. Worse? Maybe. Much worse? Not really, they're just not really efficient, because they don't have like a quick way of restoring MP. But it's a different story for halberds, halberds are used for high lvl farming since they have a MP restoring skill. There are a lot of halberd farmer build out there such as on youtube and maybe even on this forum(not sure).

    and I can summon pets my other character caught?

    I guess I meant close combat for 2hand/dual, do you have a recommendation for which one? or what differences there will be

    MP restoring skill? Can't other classes learn that too though

    Magic device or staff? differences?

    Summoning pet is actually not that complicated. Any character can summon any pet as long as it is your pet that is on your land. You can even have no taming skill at all, and can just buy pet from other player, and let it out from the cage into your land, and it will be your pet after that.

    Just reminder, you cannot put the pet back into cage after it got let out into your land.
    You can buy conventional skill books at sofya library. Buy mage skill to use mp charge for any class.

    Staff deals more magic damage, while magic device increases hit area radius for aoe magic skills.

    Yes, you can summon any pets you caught with any character, but you might want to get pet heal if you plan on using them a lot since they can't use potions. pet MP heal is also a good option, but not as necessary. Do note that pets take up a party slot, and most people may not want you summoning them because they would want to invite another player, but luckily for you the devs plan on changing this.

    Dual swords arent generally good for tanking unless you are an experienced player. Normally you want to use a weapon that can equip a shield and put all of your stats into VIT then MTL if you want to make a strong tank. You can look up a few build guides on YouTube to help you. A 2h is a decent option for a semi tank though, if that is what you are looking for, since you get most of your damage from STR, and can spend the rest of your points on VIT instead of DEX, but do note that semi tanks can't tank everything.

    A bow with tamer skills works well.

    A magic device mage is good for farming low level mobs, while a halberd is good for high level mobs.

    For smithing and synthesizing it's best to have separate characters. You can also search for guides on these.

    close combat = melee attack class.....why everyone though is a tank...
    Synergizes or Blacksmith skill require higher Proficiency to increase the success rate.
    There is 3 Stat increase the success rate so far,
    TEC = 2 pts increase 1 proficiency
    DEX = 6 pts increase 1 proficiency
    STR = 10 pts increase 1% success rate
    ** STR is different than TEC & DEX, it's did increase success rate but it's won't raise your BS/Alchemist proficiency, its a hidden stat.

    Most preferable is the build using DEX stat, like BOW, BG, 1HS, 2HS, Katana, Knuckler.
    BOW, BG, and Katana is the Best because those weapon main stat is DEX, invest 255 point on DEX and the rest on STR will give you additional 42 proficiency and perhaps 10~20% success rate with STR.

    Another alternative is 1HS ,2HS and Knuckler, this 3 weapon basically invest 255 point on their main stat ( STR or AGI ) then only come to DEX thus the proficiency earn from DEX is lowest than above mention weapon, but you can craft a Smith-Suit to raise some DEX, but don't expect too much.

    TEC is not a much for above built if you plan to built a BattleSmith, if just for pure Stat smith then just go ahead with TEC>

    Depend on your stats and gears. Any DPS is good for leveling. Although pre-Lv 150, sniper is easier to level up.
