Im usually safe online and dont get myself into dumb but the other day someone was arguing with me and threatened to track my IP address on Toram. Is this actually possible and should I be worried? I asked my friend but all he said was something about peer networks or something like that. I was thinking of getting a VPN but is it worth it if the person already has my IP?

There are two types of IPs, the public IP and the private IP. It is possible to get the public IP just by looking it up on the internet, it is public after all. The private IP is locked onto the account and plan your internet provider has, meaning they would have to go through more than just you to get the private IP. It is possible, but unlikely.

Tracking IPs is a common threat online, and it is possible, anything is possible with enough crime. However, I doubt it would actually be worth getting a VPN for it, VPNs all change your IP and system down it is core to hide your information. However, since it's a free service they have access to a lot of things on your device and network that you need to figure out if you are willing to trust them with.
