I call it paladin because it has priest skills, it can tank like a warrior and can heal /support at the same time.
The purpose of the build is to make a really tanky character who can tank almost anything, or even everything. I had been struggling between choosing sword or claws but I ended up choosing sword.

    Choosing between sword or claws:
Claws: lower attack, high attack speed, great for mana regenration, some claws even have evasion %.
1H Sword: great for threat generation.

My original idea was to build a character that have both high dodge, high defense and high hp. It was something like brawler using shield with/without heavy armor. The testing result was based on my level 50 brawler and it was disappointing. My character was hit by Flare Volg more often than before (switching out dagger for shield). The result of using heavy armor instead of light armor was even worse. My conclusion is that because of limited skill points and stat points, we can only choose one build, either high dodge or high defense.
Full Agi + Block is not viable at the current stage because there are better and more reliable builds available.

Why Paladin, Why not just tank? Paladin can provide more support to the group.

In Toram, there are 4 roles in a standard team, tank, support, DPS, and breaker and Paladin serves 2 purposes, as a heavy meat ball tank and provide supportive spells to your team.

    Stats:
    Pure Vit

    Main Skills - 50 SP:

    - Tank Core Skills - 35 SP:

5 Safe Rest = Required for HP Boost
10 HP Boost = pretty much mandatory I think. You gain 1000 more hp from 15 points investment.
10 Heavy Armor Mastery = Better Block chance. It has been said you gain 10~15% Block chance and Block power
10 Provoke = Mandatory for any tank.

    - Paladin Core skills - 15 SP:
    5 Bless =Required for Gloria
    10 Gloria = 15 % Block Chance and Def/Mdef boost, it lasts for 30s.
So far 50 points points used

    Optional - 30+ SP left:
At this point I highly recommend you save these 20+ points for future updates.
    The following optionals arnt necessary.

    Defensive:

    10 Protection
    10 Aegis
    10 Defense Up
    10 Evade Up
This build take no offensive skill because the damage output is already low, as long as we can hold aggro, it is perfectly fine.

    Offensive:
    10 Hard hit
    5~10 Shield Mastery
    10 Shield Bash
This Build can stun and help break boss's parts.
Why I dont recommend adding them: The build has very low accuracy. It is just unreliable to use any offensive skill because the chance you are gonna miss is really high unless you spent points on DEX.

    Equipment:
    Accordion Fold Sword
    Brutal Dragon Cape
    Shell Shield
    Plat Armor (crafted by NPC)
    Magic Swordman's Ring

I wish I can find other xtals that are as good as Golem xtal.
If you know anything about it please share.

In field strategy - Flare Volg as example:
Think of yourself as a turtle. Your motion speed is very slow and so you shall plan ahead before "casting" any skill.
You are going to have like 300~400 mana. How you manage your mana is critical.
After using provoke, you will have 100+ mana left.
There is no point using Gloria rightaway, in fact you dont even need it in the whole fight. You could just face tank the whole fight as long as you can dodge all his AOEs.
You probably need to provoke him again after sometime to keep him on you.
If you only use provoke twice, you shouldn't have any mana issue.
    That's it.

    Testing Result:
I started tanking Flare Volg at level 33. It was amazingly easy.
