what's fastest way to level pet skill? i see some saying spamming pet mp charge for skill, some saying killing mobs. is there a certain mob that's better to kill? help pls. lvl 4 raging blade on a lvl 30 santabby btw

 

Kill many mobs as fast as possible. Each mob has to be touched by your pet before it dies. I'll only use mp charge for pet if it got the skill blast flare (the only aoe skill). I usually did it on pova.

 

Pets get skill exp for every kill. May it be mob or boss, it count as 1 kill and whatever level it is, it is the same. A good thing to note is there is 2 kinds of pet skills depends on the nature of your pet if you are a bit unlucky.
All attack skills are called "active skills" they get a bonus point for Everytime the skill is used on the target monster.(exp from kill + exp from skill use)
The rest(support & passive) is generally called "passive skills" and just get skill exp from kills.
If you are unlucky you get an attack skill on a non-combat nature(gentle & timid), the so called "active skills" gain exp very much like the "passive skills" since it cannot gain bonus points from being used in combat.

 

so where do you guys level skill?

 

pova or cassy is good place. pova give medic/wood mats and nektar, cassy give cloth/mana mats

 

Let your pet keep using the skill and it's will level up, but it not easy anyway.

close other pet skill and left only the skill you want to leveling, let your pet spamming skill, use pet mana regen or dancer spiritual dance to regen mana.

 

so is it faster to kill mobs or to spam mp charge? for active

 

just kill mobs. by the time you finished charging, you may as well have attacked 1-3 mobs.

 

how long does it usually take for 5-10 with constant mob killing? pet one shots mob. also 4-10?
first number is the initial skill level of when the pet first got the skill

 

So if I want to lvl up encourage and first aid skill of my pet the fastest way would be to farm mobs using storm or dive impact right?

 

Some mobs gives better pet exp than others. You can power level a pet to level 70-80 in about 3 hours.

The pet system is weird, but I wish i invested more time in the pet system now.

 

In the past yes, aoe attacks deal massive kill counts. But it is confirmed as a bug(since it much faster to level up attack skills on a gentle pet that way).

Nowadays, you target one, you only get one. May it be aoe or normal attack. Unless your pet deal an aoe skill on its own.

Thats totally not true.

Supposedly fastest way is with a pet that had natural mp regen (like calm or gentle) and aggro a bunch of mobs without killing them, long enough for at least one tick of mp regen... can't find the YouTube video again that demonstrated this though, seems was removed.

Other than that, it'll be a very long “one-at-a-time manually” grind. I would suggest to bring char with a basic bow, quick motion aura, and to grind at the pova pit so you don't need to move. Make sure pet can easily kill povas in one shot there though...

Every skill level needs double the amount of skill exp compared to the last skill level, and first level starts at 100 or 200 kills.

Btw dont even think of grinding a pet skill from level 1-10. It is always better to roll again for at least a level 4 or better yet, a level 5 pet skill as a starting point. Even if you "bot-it-up" it will take a hell long time before you can cap it.

 

yea i was about to start leveling a lvl 3 raging. thankfully got a lvl 4 soon after. my luck on raging is not great

 

Pros of a good attack skill: if you build it right and prorate, it deals good damage also a good aggro generator. It covers well the finale with minimal -aggro gears or just a food buff on you.
Cons: that is 800mp a pop, so ya better be casting pet mp charge in EVERY combo you got. Or at least you may spam it instead of normal attack. Hard to pull off in a very dynamic stage.
