Question about the priest skill: Gloria.

Will the gloria skill be able to counter the -25% resistance effect of godspeed wield skill?

 

Gloria at lvl 10 triples Def/Mdef, doesn't affect resistances.

 

Im confused. Wouldn't be defense related to resistance? Example, physical resistance would be related to how high your defense, same as for magic defense and magic resistance right? Unless for elemental damage, where elemental resistance is used. Hmmmm. I guess the only way to survive when hit is to have high hp pool. Thanks for the insight.

 

Afaik def and mdef only reduce flat dmg taken, def/mdef resistance reduces dmg by % (cmiiw)
High hp pool will be useless when u get hit by fractional damage.

defense and resistance are calculated separately.

250 def apply 20% damage reduction
1250 def apply 30% damage reduction

so, for a generic 250 def character, Gloria adds 5% damage reduction.
for users of Reflex, Meikyo Shisui and Berserk, the defense penalty gets covered.
Rampage users are unaffected, since it directly sets defense to 0.

the main feature of Gloria is the 10% Guard Rate for Shield users.
15% if the caster wields a Staff.

 

Ahhh. I was just thinking of learning it for my halberd, but it seems that it wont work.
