[QUESTION] How significant is 3 Def on Armors?

So it took me a while(around 150+ runs) to get a slotted aqua garb. But unfortunately, it's only 33 Def. 36 Def seems to be the highest I found. So should I continue farming? Or is 33def okay?

 

to beef up the defense, you can always remodel the armour or add a defense xtal onto the slot.
so it really depends on your playstyle/preference XD

 

a typical dps will hover around 100 def, give or take 20.

so 3 would be a 3% increase in defense, though that doesn't seem to be the same as a 3% reduction in damage

say a boss has 400 attack, you get hit for 150 with 100 defense, you'll get hit for 147 with 103 defense. (basic attack vs defense mechanics seem to be almost this simple, though level might play as a small multiplier)
a 2% decrease.

skills work off a multiplier of attack, after defense calculations (you'll notice skills always seem to scale the same regardless of the mob)
say ooze hits you for 120, and it's super bite hits you for 1,200 add 3 defense and it become 117 and 1,170

so 3 defense at this stage of the game isn't huge, but if you find yourself getting hit a lot, it will make a noticeable impact on the amount of revita you use over a significant period of time.
