is there a relation between attack and unsheathe attack? i know that katana skills depend on unsheathe but i have no idea if attack affects it at all. i watched a video on YouTube saying it doesn't affect it so it's useless to get skills like ATTACK UP etc and that ktn players don't use neo/mardu etc but instead use ultimate machina/odel cause the atk bonus from other xtals don't matter. but then people use armors with stats atk% and they attach +atk% stats on katanas. if attack doesn't affect katanas damage then isn't it better to attach Dex or str% stats on arm/weapon? I'm kinda confused, I think there's a relation between unsheathe and attack but I'm not sure ofc.

ATK affects almost all physical skills in the game, and that includes all of the katana skills. The difference between ATK and unsheathe is that ATK is a stat that is used to calculate the base damage of your attacks ((ATK + skill constant - target mob's physical defense +/- level difference between player and target) * skill multiplier = base damage), then critical damage, stability, combo tags, and other things are applied. If a skill is counted as being an unsheathe attack, then unsheathe attack will increase that attack's damage by whatever percentage of unsheathe attack you have. I would honestly like to see the video you watched so I can laugh at it.

Ahh.. So attack kinda matters too, and unsheathe is like a bonus. I get it now, thanks a lot for the explanation!
    I wanna ask
If you were me, what xtal would you put on a 1s katana tho? Odelon, Gwaimol or ultimate machina?

About the video, here it is.
I hope it's not bad cause I went with it

After watching the video, I am thinking that it could have just been a bad translation error, and what they meant was for you to not get ATK up and intimidating power because they only provide a small amount of ATK and aren't necessary (which is a piece of advice that can apply to any build, not just katanas). If anything, if you have enough skill points, it would be a good idea for you to get both of those skills since they raise your ATK by a flat amount (your character's level /4 for both, which at level 205 would give you 102.5 ATK), which means you would be affected by it more in proportion to something like a 2h build which tend to have 4k ATK, while katana builds tend to have around 2k.
