Relatively new player asking for advice

Hi I am quite new to Toram Online, started less than a week ago. I have some questions about the game and I hope to find out more. I am currently level 116 as a mage. Here are some questions I have.

1. When learning skills at the library, Lilulu says that I will eventually have to pay to learn skills. How is that calculated? At which point do I have to pay? Is it always 0 during the free skill reset campaign? And if so, should I learn all skills I can during this event?

2. What is the best way to level up past the main quest? I heard that I have to get to level 150 and main quest only gets me to 140.

3. What equipment is best? Should I craft from blacksmith? Buy from board? Or farm from bosses?

4. How to earn spinas? I currently have about 200k spinas from selling stuff at the consignment board, which I assume is dirt poor. What's the best way to earn spinas?

5. I'm not too sure what skills are good to learn. I want to know more about skills for a mage and also for halberd (My brother). Any guides you guys recommend?

1/ only 0 when free reset
2/ do odelon and venena to reach 150
3/ depend, boss drop for low budget
4/ can create mage and farm mat or ore
5/ mage finale easiest( reach 150 to unlock), not sure about hb but dt is dps and war cry struggle for mp (lv10 gain 200mp each cast when hp under 55%)

 

depending on the category, skills can cost up to 1000 * tier level and some extra if you have multiple trees from the same category.

you can buy all the skill trees for 0 spina, but you can also read the same descriptions (and some extra) on coryn.club

fight monsters near your level. the highest base exp multiplier is 20x within a +-5 level range.
you can use the exp calculator on coryn.club to see which mob/boss gives the most for any level, including multipliers and everything.

depends on your build and preferences

you get up to 1k from daily emblems when doing side quests.
Potum Darts can hold 100-1000 (but there are usually better things to aim for).
monsters in the guild maze drop coins.
selling wanted materials/dye to players gives the most, but that money has to come from somewhere, so selling unwanted stuff/leftovers at the general store is the source.

read/watch all you want, but make your own choices based on your experiences.
nothing is worse than people blindly copying other people's build without knowing how to use them.
most players already do this and you would be better off making your own characters.

 

So does this mean that skill trees can always be unlocked for free?

 

I'm also not a fan of simply copying builds but I was wondering if there were some skills already found to be not worth it since I don't have the resources to reset after this event and would like to avoid investing points into an useless skill.

 

1) Generally its good to get all skills if you dont want to end up wasting alot of spina later on x3 but as mage? You will hardly need 2-3 skill trees as main

2) 138>142 : Builder Golem
142-146 : Dusk machina
146-150 : Odelon
150-153 : Super death mushroom
153+ : Hit venena till 200 xD

3+4) Try get till 153, then farm at venena, as mage; her staff is good for low budget, with decent stats, sell her items to earn spina, and you can buy an outdated (IM7)mage arm+ staff (IM7I14) under..1m?

5) For mage :
Magic skill tree :
Skills before Finale( 4th tier skill), leave em at lvl 5, Finale at 10, Magic mastery lvl 10, mp charge lvl 10, Maximizer lvl 10( 2 skills before at lvl 5)
Battle skill tree :
1st skill at lvl 10, last skill at lvl 10, middle two, at lvl 5
Survival skill tree:
Only hp and mp max at lvl 10, leave out rest.

These are the main necessary skills, unless you have shield/dagger/arrow etc as sub too?

Thank you! Also wondering, what sub weapon best goes with staff? Honestly I don't really understand how sub weapons work; like some stats are not obtained or smth? And also any tips for Halberd skill tree for my bro? what's essential and what's useless? Thank you!

 

You can evade or guard or both. Depends on you. Heavy armor and shield for guard, dagger and light armor for evade. You can mix and match depend on your playstyle.
Like every other weapon here in toram there is a plethora of builds according to playstyle (like some go full halberd and grab the 2h passive from manonofu skill tree for extra damage, some go ninja and grab arcane strike as main dps)

For staff?
Well l use shield, many use arrow and dagger too for physical proration,
I prefer shield since Pdef provides protection and aside from that, you can now use Guard and evasion too :3

For hlb?
How bout you go to class section here and halberd there~
There are many builds that mention necessary skills and even combos :3
Althou, to narrow for preference ;
Hlb skill tree > Magic skill tree (impact lvl 7> finale lvl 1)[for combos] Battle skill tree > Survival skill tree (depends unless u dont bother with hp/mp or have ornlarf/food buff) > Ktn skill tree (shukuchi lvl 1) > Assassin skill tree (backstep lvl 1)

 

As of now we are having free reset period where you can get every single skill tree for free. After it's over it will cost you some spina that increases as the more skill tree you learnt
