Seems like a lot that has been shared in this thread were bad experiences lol xD
Anyway, I have some stories, but not a lot.

One guild I was in. Some longtime members said that the master borrowed stuff "for the guild" and didn't return them. Also he was quite demanding, members having to farm mats and store them to the guild, etc. Me, my friend, and some others left the guild. Today, that guild is quite large and has some branches too. I don't care at all.

I remember making a tank for the June Bride Empress event, I did quite good back then. Then ultimate week event came, one of the bosses were Jade Raptor. Back then I didn't know about def and resistance, I even used Empress Mail xD I failed to tank there, and eventually I deleted my tank.

Bad experiences with random tanks?? Ooh, now this, I have a lot, don't even remember most of them. Met quite a few "tanks" who couldn't even tank P. Ava. One "tank" I met at Hell Emp asked the question "Does Meteor inflict tumble?" seriously why tf did you even take it!? And he kept dying to her fatal attack on phase 1 lol. One tank I met at Venena kept using Protection instead of Aegis. At least he listened and stopped using Protection.

Bad DPS is another thing. Met quite a few glass cannons that die to one laser from Hell Emp (despite not even holding aggro). Also one or two that kept tumbling her..

A good experience? Someone offered our party a free glory run on Seele hard. Got the xtal which I still use till this day. And I believe that someone is here on this thread xD

 

Back in the day when boss roga is the hardest boss. One of my pt member told to me stop using aoe skill (I use spinning slash to clear the small rogas), he said it lower damage deal to the boss(which is wrong). Back then I don't know he is right or wrong, next run I don't use spinning slash, i kill small roga one by one and then kill the boss, he said 'see, much better'. And then I remember that I use tempest and damage is not low. I told him that he is wrong and continue to use spinning slash on the next run. He cursed and left the pt. And he shout ' lfp that is not stupid '.

 

Probably those tank are newbie.
But,the thing that trigger me is how they died on empress fatal atk.
Like,it has a very long ass windup and telegraphed by laser atk instead usual wave (Unless if it on P5+you got stuck in comb,i just facepalmed).

Reminds me when im on P-Chan,i invited this staff "tank".
Poor sod doesn't even last for 2 minute since his definition of "tank" is a bigass amount of hp bar.
And yea,we kicked him at instant after knowing this.

One of good experience i had is i got rich overnight because i helped random users lvl in Dusk.
After friend left since he finished lvling,pt member begging me to help since there is pretty much nobody there.
Figured i could waste some time,i went full rage against machina real quick.
When they finished,they thanked me and they asked me how much for my "service".
Initially i refuse,but since they insisted,i ask them if they can give me crimson bone. got around 25 pcs.
Because of that,i got rich overnight by selling Vestibus app (Dunno why but vestibus app is very exp in past, i sold like 1m per app)

 

So the first time I fought carbuncle was with my toy hammer tank, but the Pikachu just, stood still without doing any attack or aoes. I just deploy decoy and use sacrifice on it till it dies. Kinda weird and I haven't encountered it again

They probably made tank cuz they knew it'd be ez to find parties on event bosses. Copy pasted Youtube builds without knowing the playstyle. I really dislike this kind of people who doesn't even know how to tank, but play tank regardless. I mean, at least they should learn first, BUT NO. Some parts of this community is just hopeless.

Also this is why if newbies asks me for advice, I never tell them to become a tank. There's a lot to know about tanks. Not to mention it'd be harder for them to finish MQ and get the proper skills and equips.

Enough with the rant. Another story I just recalled.
Bought a Fortistra app for 30k ish back when Imitacia was just released. The normal price was over 1m IIRC. I became somewhat rich xD And of course I spent it for some dumb stuff..

 

2 story of gemrun:

My friend purchased a glory gemrun,made pt to run on Ornlarf.
All seems well,until the tank acting up.
Nay,its much worse than being dc or crashed.
Tank accidentally mp charge near exit.
So, my friend (who is 2h user) must tank that metal monstrosity for like 15-20 minute because that shit.
Tank didn't say anything on guild chat, most likely very pissed off.

This one is mine. So,friend got gem from gacha,we decide to use it.
Its decided that we are going Tyrant ulti,with only 2 of us (My friend has decked out his finale eq)
It goes smooth,until it hit last phase where tyrant has one atk that heals it.
Since i have no idea that its okay to flinch on last phase,the fight last for 30min because it outheals my friend dmg.
We are pretty much about to give up,until i flinched it, kept fighting and finally killed it.
To add salt upon wound,no slotted mask and xta.

Tl:dr
-Tank mp charge near exit,thing went clusterfuck
-Lack knowledge of phase prolong the run

i supported this logic 100% but these rules really made me question to what extent, like im very loyal and compliant, but that... that broke me

 

ive been solo ever since, i feel bad for saying it but lets be honest, i cannot stand (wayyy more than) half the people in the community

 

a few mins after i posted it, i loged in and went to lynx map just to see a random guy doing loli rp on shout w some weirdo guys

Im quite the opposite.
I can actually hold myself quite well on those stuff (My friend even asked how the hell i didn't cringe at it).
Rarely,i chimes inside temporarily if i were farming and boredom/sleepiness got unbearable (Mostly just to keep my attention at my tanking)
All of these done while i pray that i don't dig the hole even deeper.

The stuff thats actually manage to made me cringe a bit is loli rp (not long ago on whale event)
90% of their chat uses weeb lang (Suffice to say,my eyes hurts reading it)

 

Here's something that happened earlier, someone shouted and needed a tank, an ultimate gemrun worth 950k and I bought the run after seeing it. When those people decided which boss to fight, we went to Gwaimol to do the run and here is what happened next. We did a testrun first on nm to see if I can tank gwai and during the testrun, which is requested by someone (doubting my tanking skills)who in the process, got dc and came back after we successfully completed the run. He still doubt my tanking skills and ask his guildmate if I can actually tank nm and finally agreed when he replied yes and do the gemrun.
During the run, the dude who doubted me keep on dc and when he reconnected, he sometimes just sit and like afk for few minutes whenever he's dead and won't revive immediately even when the counter is 0. His guildmate was really mad at that time and keep cursing the crap out of him when he dc and reconnect for like 10 mins. And here's the outcome:

The longest run of my toram life(1hr:26m). The dude dc like for 30 mins when gwai who is at 30% and his guildmate who has lost his cool because of what happened finished the run finally.

I am hoping I won't encounter such a gemrun like this ever again.

The closest is when im on hell empress.
Everyone died at p5 except this gattling dagger.
Like,we spend almost 2 hour on this shit
But alas,my gattling fall from arena cus he got tumbled and hit twice by laser

My rules on gemrun is: Never do it when you fully know that the net is being crap

 

Everytime someone passes me the leadership, I change it to ultimate quickly and start the battle once everyone is ready.

Then I solo the boss while they're all KOd and run circles around them instead of healing. Spamming Omae wa mou shindeiru.

Once I get an idea how a tank do the job, I recalled and laugh at the fool old me but such experience isn't so bad either instead I enjoyed those times.

My early day of tank's stats distribution is MAX VIT and the rest for INT coz INT gave me MDEF and during that time I believe more DEF and MDEF are important for tank but now... I feel so stupid for that decision, hahaha
