Skill Ideas for Support

    Some skills ideas I imagined in Toram for Support playstyles. It's a far-fetched dream, but it was fun coming up with this.

    There's a lot of focus on MD, cuz MD needs more love. I can only hope MD is given nore justice with the upcoming T4 Magic Warrior skills. Let me know what you think.

    PRIEST SKILL TREE
    Purify
    (Staff and Magic Device only)
    Standalone
    300MP / Comboable
    Removes an ailment/debuff to whole party. When Prayer buff is active and Purify skill is casted, get ailment resistance buff from the next received attack.
    Passive: Requires Prayer level 10 for 100% ailment resistance
    Level 1-3 - Removes 1 ailments
    Level 4-6 - Removes 2 ailments
    Level 7-9 - Removes 3 ailments
    Level 10 - Removes 4 ailments

    SUPPORT SKILL TREE
    Synergist
    (All weapon types)
    Standalone
    Available MP / Non Comboable
    Turns on and off auras from Support skill tree. Save auras from getting lost by turning it off at the expense of HP. Turning on auras consumes whole MP. Requires atleast 100MP to activate skill. Cannot be comboed.
    Level 1 - 95% HP deduction
    Level 2 - 90% HP deduction
    Level 3 - 85% HP deduction
    Level 4 - 80% HP deduction
    Level 5 - 75% HP deduction
    Level 6 - 70% HP deduction
    Level 7 - 65% HP deduction
    Level 8 - 60% HP deduction
    Level 9 - 65% HP deduction
    Level 10 - 50% HP deduction
    Staff Bonus - -25% HP deduction
    MD Bonus - 50% MP consumed

    MINSTREL SKILL TREE
    Encore
    (all weapon types)
    Continuation of Adlib
    300MP
    Quickly build stacks for a Minstrel songs. Unable to perform any action/movement/skills. Adlib cancels the skill. Fantasy Song is not affected.
    Level 1-3 - Stack increase interval reduced by 20%
    Level 4-6 - Stack increase interval reduced by 30%
    Level 7-9 - Stack increase interval reduced by 40%
    Level 10 - Stack increase interval reduced by 50%

    DANCER SKILL TREE
    Revitalizing Dance
    (dancer exlusive weapons)
    Continuation of Spirited Dance
    600MP / Non Comboable
    A dance that instantly revives a party member who died with the buff active. Increasing the stack restores higher MP when revived. Uses a different and slower dance animation. Higher skill level gives quicker animation.
    1 Stack - 25% MP Restored
    2 Stack - 30% MP Restored
    3 Stack - 35% MP Restored
    4 Stack - 40% MP Restored
    5 Stack - 45% MP Restored
    6 Stack+ - 50% MP Restored
    Level 1 - Skill Motion Speed 1%
    Level 2 - Skill Motion Speed 2%
    Level 3 - Skill Motion Speed 3%
    Level 4 - Skill Motion Speed 4%

    (dancer exclusive weapons)
    Passive.
    Continuation of Nature's Wonder
    Increases Nature's Wonder power. Inflicts elemental damage and 100% ailment if wearing Magic Device.
    Level 1 - +5 Skill Constant
    Level 2 - +10 Skill Constant
    Level 3 - +15 Skill Constant
    Level 4 - +20 Skill Constant
    Level 5 - +25 Skill Constant
    Level 6 - +30 Skill Constant

    Tbh. This game needs balancing far, far more than new skills.

    There isn't much to hope for rebalancing. I don't think Aso will ever think of doing it, how many years has it been especially for Knux and Supports xD.
    All we can do is dream.

    There are too many skills which have no reason to even be used because of Impact > Smite.

    Knux is pretty cool tbh, a sub shield knux can solo all content (tho very slowly) pretty easily.

    Decoy shot use stems from the fact that there are limited MP recovery methods in game and no one wants to normal attack yo recover MP given how pathetic normal attack damage is VS skill damage. Decoy covers both bases by normal attacking for you so you can skill using the time it would've taken you to do so. That's worth it despite the non-combo 4 mp cost.

    Impact Smite really needs a nerf tho. That's the main thing being abused here but certain players don't want to acknowledge that because they like big numbers. Even saying that, the big numbers really work for solo instances at mini-bosses and non-popular bosses where getting a party can take a long time. Eg: Proto Leon.

    Really dunno what to see going forward with the game. It caters to solo situations properly but team situations need some serious work.

    And Prayer is just a worst version of Warcry.
    • it cost 200 more mp
    • it has 1 sec base casting time and a long casting animation vs instant cast
    • it cost 5 more skill points to get max lvl
    With these drawbacks you kind of expecting something more ESPECIALLY from a Tier 4 skill, but nope. I feel like when it comes to any mage skill they have to tone it down for some unknown reasons.

    I find it funny that it's just a magic version of pre-buffed War Cry. War Cry used to have a cast time of 1 second and had the exact same complaints about it before getting buffed to an instant cast skill. (I'd rather they put the cast time back on War Cry, but i'm weird in disliking how many mandatory skills have instant cast and no down sides attached to them apparently. )

    So if enough complaints come in, they might change it...one day...maybe...better chances then getting a new smite combo tag anyway. .-.

    Isn't it pretty unusual to have staff/md bonuses at support, dancer, etc. skills? Overall, it's nice if implemented (with some configurations). I just hope that there's a skill that improves survivability and efficiency of supports, such as a passive skill that allows CSPD to affect motion speed, limited to staff or md users.
    BTW reading your post urges me to make a minstrel support (staff sub dagger) and go strum strum while using manual evade paired with shadow walk i-frame (with buffs at the start, of course).

    Thanks! Actually MD bonus for Minstrel and Dancer? Not really since its the only weapon that has access to both skill trees.
    Also MD is more of a Support equip worn as either main or sub, because of the way it is designed stat wise and skill-access wise, might as well utilize its purpose for that.
    As for CSPD boosts not really much needed much if weapon has access to reliable iframes or able to sustain fragile buffs. However I agree motion speed is really a must.
