So I haven't played Toram for about a week or two. Main reason being it's so hard to level up(195-200) and it just gets boring now, second reason being I have downloaded other games that are more fun to play. So.. I want you guys to convince me to either stay, or just quit. Tell me why I should and/or should not quit the game. I'll make my decision based on the answers on this post. Thanks :)

Edit: fyi I've played for almost 2 years-ish and am doing pretty well in game(enough spina, good gears, etc.)

A game is only fun when there is something you personally feel is feasible in working towards, whether it be good gear, high level and stats, roleplaying, cosplaying, or just socialising etc. but if you feel like you don't have anything to work towards or whatever you want is just too far away it becomes a chore, then I'd say take a break for a little bit, play some other games then come back and continue where you left off. Perhaps by then there'll be new content or events that might interest you, just don't force yourself to play for the sake of playing which is kind of putting the cart before the horse.

Well.. If you're feeling bored or sick of the game, then yeah, maybe you should take a break or quit entirely. A game is meant to be enjoyed, there's no point in playing if you no longer enjoy it.

I'm not gonna try and convince you to stay or leave. Just do what you feel right. The decision is entirely in your own hands.

1: the regular content hasn't reached lv200 yet. the increased level cap (and smithing effects) are just a buffer for end-game players so they don't complain about not being able to progress.

2: if you have no motive to play except grinding to the limit and/or have no other ties in-game, then don't waste your time here.
sounds rude, but it's true. especially if you already found another game which you enjoy more.

    just do it.
and if you feel like you miss toram, april is a good time to come back. by then they will have implemented some major game changes and it's the time of the best event of the year: Hanami.

Lol it’s funny no one gave you a reason to stay, and that’s because no one can, grinding lo lv 200 ain’t hard, venena till 199 then that blob thing after. Patience is key, but anyway back to your issue, if difficulty is what makes u wanna leave or grinding then rpgs are not for you that’s how rpg games are, toram is an original rpg where you get a lot of latitude in building your character, that’s why I like it, and it’s easy once u get the hang of it, time consuming yes but I like that. I get no fun in a game I can quickly and easily beat.

"If a game is not fun, why bother" -Reggie

MMOs all tend to have this thing in common where after a while it's a grind that's not fun in essence, but the reason for that is because an MMO is supposed to be more than just the game. People are expected to socialize and spend time not actually playing but hanging out and maybe going out for a boss rush or something. If you have people who would be sad with you leaving, consider staying to talk with them if you dont already on Line or Discord.
Toram has always been a type of game where I would stop playing until I see some stuff has been added and I jump back in to see what's up. I use the game to help me with my game design courses in college (what a life huh?) to see what is and isn't good. Toram has done something right in gaining a lot of attention but obviously has done a lot wrong to have people leaving in good amounts. Whenever a game gets boring to play, I always try to find a way to make it fun again in my own way.

You have no obligation to keep doing something when there are more things out there that are better for you.

You can quit and come back whenever you want . If you cannot enjoy Toram anymore, you can take a break and find yourself in somewhere else. It much better than suffering in the game you don't even like.

You forget about the boring part, I've been doing Venena for god knows how many times and it has gotten really repetitive, it's so boring.
And no, long grinding is NOT the reason why I dislike Toram atm, in fact, 2 of the other games I mentioned earlier are both RPGs. I love RPGs, Toram is just boring (maybe because I'm at the end-game?)

I liked Toram before, and I would like it to stay that way. Toram has been a part of my life for so long, it's kinda sad to see this is how it ends :( but you right about the wait-come back later thing, I can just lurk in this forum lol

I agree grinding is repetitive, but toram has many things to do besides that, you can remodel your house, raise pets and fuse them, battle dungeon, guild maze, help a random new player, dance in Sofya square for no reason lol level your bs or synth if u haven’t already, do an odd build . There are variety of stuff so even if you retire or semi retire there are many simple things u can do that can make u log in from time to time

Alchemia Story(Asobimo) and World of Dragon Nest

    Remodel house? Farm for mats
Raise pets? Takes longer than actually lvling your own lvl
Battle dungeon? What even is that lol
Maze? Have had a bad experience with being in guilds
Help new peeps? Idk merc exists
Dance for no reason? Could've used the time to actually do something productive, whether it be in games or irl

Funny how I find Alchemia more boring than Toram.

Events are just basically "Grind the hell outta monsters for a slight chance to get rare mats used for exchanging prizes." A lot of bosses can't be done without a really good party (esp. event bosses).

It's impossible for newer players to catch up there. Just to get 1 Ousia weapon you need to grind for job levels, do Tower of Time every week, and do Fire Cave and Bottomless Coalmine every day for so long. But a while back they added the Akashic weaps which requires even more grinding and doing the newer dungeons, Valley of Wind (pretty hard boss) and Fire Cave Abyss (insanely hard from what I've seen). You'll never grind enough to be able to catch up with veterans. Not even anywhere close to them.

I did get an offer to join a good guild, but by that time I already felt the game was boring and repetitive.. so I decided not to join. I still have the game on my phone, sometimes I login when I feel like it.

And oops I got carried away :p

It is true that Alsto is just as, if not, more boring than Toram, but somehow I enjoy it more than Toram. Maybe because of the graphics? Idk. I enjoy WoDN more than those two.

Well I switch between those two so I don't get bored quickly. When I get bored, I just watch youtube and do other things.

Yes dungeon in Sofya where u fight waves of mobs with a boss at the end, you get some exp.

Helping new players isn’t restricted to leveling or fighting bosses, think of it as a role playing aspect where u teach them things about the game and what not, they are your student and you their sensei. This can be very rewarding in the long run. For me I am looking forward to getting a new active player to do that with, but I haven’t seen anyone new with the same drive I have to pass on my knowledge from my failures to xd.

Something doesn’t have to be “ constructive “ to be fun. And that’s your problem.... a player can be nowhere close to end game and enjoy the game very much, that’s because mmorpgs need to have a good social aspect to be fun, that is making friends and doing stuff with them, talking and whatever . These things don’t necessarily advance you in the game or are as u say constructive but they are indeed fun.

Aaaaand as I said no one can do this for you I am just highlighting aspects of the game than doesn’t require grinding .

Idk I may be a veteran(been playing since cap 90-100ish) but I don't know a lot about this game. I have no right to teach anyone :(

    Thanks for the suggestions though

Staying in a game you're not having fun playing is not worth. You can always return anyway as long as your account is bound and the game is still alive. One way or another, you might get the urge to play Toram again and enjoy it once more and then get bored and the cycle starts over or never touch it again. We players find the fun in mundane things, just remember that.

If you still enjoyed it, then keep playing
If you don't feel any excitement, then retire
You can always come back whenever you got the urge to play, as long you still have your acc

Unless if you planning to sell it, then its point of no return
