    • The 9th September patch for Astol actually made it tougher to kill the boss, since its HP is increased by 2.5x.
    • It also make it harder to break the head part if you miss the break at the start due to implementation of a new circular AOE and new wider AOE dash, therefore the gliding probability is reduced.
    • Added a few lines for the step by step guide, FAQ and change a few sentences.
    • Since its slightly harder to break the head part now, it is crucial that the breaker break two parts ASAP at the start to save time, revitas and avoiding hordes of pico haunting you!

There are many sword breakers and breakers having issues with Astol's break, therefore i have made a guide on sword breaker to show how to break two parts for Astol Boss.

I have found this breaking strategy myself, and breaking two parts is pretty simple and easy after mastering it.

    What is Astol?
Astol is a new avian boss implemented on 3rd September 2015 on official Toram online. Astol can be found in Aulada Ancient Tower: Deck.

    Why break all parts?
Alot easier to get equips and boss xtal once all parts are broken.

Why sword breaker and not archer or brawler?
When mastered, sword breakers break boss a lot faster, more accurate due to pure dex, thus more efficient than archer and brawler.

    Pros:
    High tap damage output.
    High accuracy.

    Cons:
You need to practice, trial and error to master certain boss breaks and angle of breaks.
Takes a bit of time to get the hang of it.

    Stats:
Pure dex (for higher damage output which also means higher tap damage for faster breaking, dex also increase hit rate which is crucial in accurately landing your breaking skills; eg.hard-hit).

    Xtal:
All dex xtal on all slotted equips.
Currently the game only has Dex+1 xtal available, from nemico(bat creature) in Underground Ruins.

    Weapons:
Currently the highest damage weapon for one-handed swordsman and breakers is Relic Sword from ruin golem boss in Zoktzda Ruins.

    Armor:
Crafted Plate Armor(not NPC version) with at least dex+5 along with other stats of your choice.

    Secondary/sub weapon:
Magic device for faster MP recharge if you used up all your mp during the fight and had not break the second part yet.
3.8 second recharge instead of about 5.8 second recharge with other sub weapons.

Daggers (power knife preferred), slow magic recharge but gives a much higher damage output, tap breaking is easier with daggers, but preferably equip only after you have practice a few times and is confident in breaking without having the need to MP recharge during the fight.

    Others/none: not recommended.

    Head:
Crystal earrings for more mana or any hats with dex stats.

    Rings:
    Dex talisman ring.

    Skills:
Hard-hit 10, at level 10, flinch and Break is almost a 100% on boss. A MUST HAVE SKILL FOR SWORD BREAKERS.
Sword mastery 10, adds more attack damage therefore faster tap break.
MP charge 10 (mage skill tree), higher level increase MP regain per charge and reduces charge time.
Attack up 10 (battle skill tree), adds more attack damage therefore faster tap break.
HP boost 10 (survival skill tree), for survival and tanking, wouldn't want the boss to kill you before you even break all the parts.

Map legend (circular map at bottom right):
    • Orange dot: enemy
    • Cyan dot: party members
    • Yellow arrow: you
    • Green dot: exit

    Step by step guide:
Before you enter the boss fight, please allow a little time to inform and explain to your party members about how you are going to break the parts and what they will need to do. This is so as to save time and also to avoid any conflicts, some party might need a few tries to get it right.

    Success 2 parts break

Success 2 parts break, slower version

Success 1 part break, glide and turnaround to break 2nd part

Success 1 part break, hard-hit to disrupt Astol's AOE, glide and turnaround to break 2nd part

Party members must not attack the boss till you have broken all two parts. This is so that Astol's aggro will always be locked on you, thus it will begin to glide when you're a distance away from it. At times Astol will try to land a AOE dash skill attack in a line, hard hit it once or twice to flinch and disrupt its skill, after which it will begin to glide towards you again when you are a distance away.

Please have your party members stand directly behind you, about 2-3 meters away. Party members are also required to stick together for best results.

*Also, do not have any of your member walk close to Astol, in doing so, Astol might use it's wide circular AOE instead of gliding towards its target. The reason is Astol will check the number of targets in an area before automatically gliding, if it detects more than 1 target within the last few seconds, it will AOE instead.

There are a few reasons for doing so.
[1] Party members will not block your tap vision and also allows Astol to glide towards you or any of your party members with it's head facing towards you.
[2] Another reason is so party members are able to tap the circle from behind you.

Please do not attack, once your party members move to the back, tap once on 'action' button to select the boss. This is done so as to know when Astol is going to target a player and had its name changed to white from red. Astol might skill instead of gliding if any players attack it before it automatically select it's target randomly, which is not an ideal option. Wait a few seconds for Astol to automatically select its target and glide towards it.

When Astol automatically select its target, it will change its name to white, and will begin to glide after 2 sec. Run forward and hard-hit it when it starts to glide and 2 break taps should appear, tap the first one(head) and the second one will follow shortly(body).

It's not hard to break the tap circle if you have decent damage and hit as many times as you could. If you have a mobile phone with a big screen or a tablet, use two thumbs to tap simultaneously to break each of them.

Inform your party when you broke two parts, so that they could help with the killing.

What if Astol evades, hard hit fails, miss tap, miss break or miss skill?
If any of the above occurs at the start, two parts breaks are still very possible. Move away from Astol for a short distance so it will be able to glide towards you. Once Astol starts to glide towards you, turn around to hard-hit it in the face and the break tap should appear. Keep doing it till you break both parts.

What if Astol begins to use its AOE dash skill in a line?
Hard-hit it to flinch Astol and disrupt its skill, it might AOE again, hard-hit it the second time or the third time and Astol should begin to glide again. The reason to flinch and disrupt Astol's AOE is because it will keep using its AOE for a few consecutive times and while doing so the break tap for the head part will not appear even though the player hard-hit it.

What if Astol uses it huge circular AOE?
The AOE doesnt hit for much damage, let it hit or run away from it. The only AOE you should disrupt is the AOE dash.

What about the mini circular AOE?
Just run away from it. Don't waste MP disrupting it.
