Sword Tempest and Rampage

Hi guys. So i've been off Toram for about 2 months now and would like some information on the Level 3 sword skills. War Cry looks like a mandatory skill, but the other two look iffy. This is all in regards to 1hs though. If anyone would like to add 2hs views, that'd be appreciated as well.

As of now, I've tried both skills a little bit and seen some videos around the forums about Rampage. I've seen almost nothing on Sword Tempest though. Aside from a few post dated back a month ago, I haven't seen much praise for either though.

So i'd like to know.
-How good is the damage for both? In comparison to say...Spiral Air. Also, in comparison to each other.

-How often are they usable? From what i've tried, Tempest seems alot more usable then Rampage. I can't really get a feel of how useful either are until I get regeared though.

-Would it be viable to skip them or is having at least one invaluable this patch? If they aren't to great, I can skip them and use the points in other categories. Maybe Shield Bash or passives.

I'm sorry for the long post though and any obvious pieces of information i've missed throughout the forums.

 

sword tempest its aoe skill like a sonic wave with the sword and where its hit its a tornado.
As far i have seen of rampageon a video it worth the points used u do each hit like 1/3 less of the da,age u do but u hit fast and when it gonna finish you start hitting very fast perfect for dps for sure

 

Sword tempest can make monster freeze

Rampage good for dps

 

Is that 1h or 2h build?

With my 1h char i only manage 300x18 hit and 2 last hit only 3000-5000 damage.

Is there any crit damage% stat in your equipment?

 

He's using a 2 handed sword. You can see in him wielding it in the photo. Also, the last 3 hits are high damage hits for 2h sword as opposed to 1hs having 2 hits at the end.

@Devanagri Thanks for the photo. I'll be getting Rampage as one of my skills then. Now I just need to figure out how well Sword Tempest works.

The best rampage damage i deal with my 1h is 800-900 x 17 hit, 1700 x 2 hit and last hit 12700.....

 

Rampage is a different story when it comes to GS tho, kinda unstable depending on ashute. Only when ashute hits/proc else the mps gone to waste.

 

It looks like a pretty good skill. I haven't fallen in love with it though. I may just need more exposure to the skill though. So i'll keep playing with it until I find that I like it or not. It feels like a skill meant for 2h atm. That's probably just me though. Also, my bad for the misinformation on the first photo above.

I still haven't seen much on the damage for Sword Tempest though. I read about Makoi getting around 25k with it smited. I'm planning on trying it later today at home though. It looks like it fits my style a bit more. Just hope the damage isn't far worse than Rampage.

 

25k smited was against low defense boss like Forestia or mini-boss like Setliro. Normally, damage is even lower.

 

and as mentioned if first hits miss that means the following 19 hits miss a tanky or high crit rate build is recommended

 

25k was referring to tempest, But yes, missing the first Rampage hit makes you wanna just Relog right there. Not only the mp is gone, you're also standing still at the same spot practicing your swing for the next 10 seconds.

 

All i can say is. Tempest is used for fast casting dps combo. Rampage is used for slower casting dps combo but has higher damage than tempest.
Im using tempest knight build. And the combo ration between tempest and rampage is 2:1.
Tempest has insane casting combo set with 100mp bar.
