Synthesis question

This is probably a stupid question but if you had a light/heavy armor and you wanted to synth it into the normal app of an armor, do the benefits you got from the upgrade still count or is the only way to get those benefits through making the end result of your synth into light/heavy?

 

once u remodel an armor, it became part of the armor's sub-stat even tho it's not listed in description. and armor appearance follows it's stat no matter what.
so yeah, in your case u have remodel ur armor again after u synth it with normal armor stat
