    Hello

I have been playing tank for almost a month now. I switch around between BG shield and OHS.

I often get a comment while I play a tank cha that I shouldnot move so often & I should stay at the middle of the map (unless I pt with CF and Finale , they donot care where I station)

So I am wondering, for people who play tank. Do you often move around or stay in 1 place. I dont care either way but if other players prefer stationary tank then , I will practice not to move.

I dont know about tank movement, but if you talking about must stay in the middle of the map, it mostly in venena raid boss since there's a period when venena doing kamehameha and if you kept moving the boss might kill your teammates

Most dps player prefer the tank not to move around too much because:
1). They want their decoy to stay near the boss all the time to get ampr.
2). If the tank moves around too much the boss laser aoe, meteor attacks, etc. also move around with him as the target, which will increase the likelihood of a dps getting hit and dying mid combo if the tank accidentally comes near him.
3). Finale and crossfire users would also prefer the tank to not move around too much because their finale and cf could miss if the boss is moving too much all the time.

Try to not move the boss, but stay aware of line aoes so it won't hit your teammates. Redirect those aoes or p. Def it, but staying in one direction and use p. Def is more preferable than dodging since your party mates will have easier time if you're not moving at all. For bosses that moves around a lot if you can find a spot to corner them it would be better. The example is wandering wheel, you can lure them on the chambers that spread across the side of the map. Anyway, just do whatever you would prefer your tank do when you play as an attacker

I mostly stay in mid, but sometimes i have to move in certain condition:
-Crazy high dmg/frac that outlast my P.def i-frame (Eiden slow big-ass multi hit fractional waves)
-Repositioning (especially with knockback that ignore ail res near edges)
-If the boss is about to cast wide ass aoe after getting away from me (Hero potum for example) so i can interrupt
-If somehow the boss manages to go through auto pots and left me with low hp

Sanctuary+Decoy+P.def spam is your best friend

generally they move as little as possible. there's nothing more annoying than having to chase the stupid boss from one side to the other...mid combo.

If you're fighting Venena as a tank, then you should stay in the middle so the laser ray won't hit the other party member.
So, how often the tank should move their body are depends on the boss they are facing.

Venena is the easiest boss to tank there really nothing to do than stay still.

I mean boss that move a lot like Ornlarf , Lavada , Usasami ,Gerumi etc. Do I suppose to run after the boss or wait in the middle? I was watching Krunos'dark tanger movement and practice it that way.

But it seems players want me to stay still then I will change my play style.

usually boss w/platforms, tanks usually stay on the edge as some of the aoe can knock pt mems off platform if you situate yourself in the middle. tank position would vary boss to boss, sometimes i've seen tanks against the wall since the boss has an aoe for knockback and the wall would block the tank from flying far then having to run back to boss.

Max ailment resist is good, those spikes normally do knockbacks so it's risky to go to the edge, with max resist you could operate freely. Although some newer event bosses also have absolute ailment

It depends on boss attack pattern and boss movement pattern. To bo honest when dps keep whacking the boss, it will trigger the identical movement pattern. In the end you predict it quite well. For example, gwaimol . You can lure to to the corner when he keep dying, he will go to mid and blast the shark aoe ( you can stun it to prevent) and same goes for fireball. *Note, if the boss map doesnt has a ring like gladiator, just lure the boss to the edge of map ( its doesnt matter if its on corner of the map), so in your perspective of view you can see the dps position. To get a better idea, let the boss sandwiched between tank and dps. If the map is like p.ava/g ico/megiston/anniv and etc. Its better to stay semi mid radius due sometimes things might gone control. To answer your question, CF and Finale has no issue with tanker as long you stay at one spot. They will noticed it after few round ( if you are party with random).
