Two Handed Sword: The Gladiator
When I hear the word Gladiator,
I think of this game: Gladiator Begins

Two Handed Swords are based on a combination of a Gladiator & a Berserker.

Gladiator: in ancient Rome) a man trained to fight with weapons against other men or wild animals in an arena.
Berserker: An ancient Norse warrior who fought in a wild frenzy

- Capable of being a Good DPS & Decent Tank.
- Best synergy with Dark Power Skills
- Increased Attack MP Recovery & Critical Rate
-Versatile with 3 meters of our enemies

- Naturally slow
- Emphasis on Damage Reduction
- Bad synergy with Evasion
- Bad in mid-ranged/ranged combat
Rely on auto attacks AND Guard for MP​

 

Our Identity & Role in Parties

2H has one simple job: Deal damage, & don't die.
However, we are a pure melee DPS.
So we deal our best damage by staying in range.

We have an emphasis on Guard for a reason.
It's both our defense & offense in combat.

It reduces damage by up to 100%,
& also returns MP when you Guard attacks.
People complain about low MP especially out of range, and not using Guard is a major reason why.


We also indirectly also support parties.
We increase other people's damage in 2 ways.

The first is with War Cry.
It increases everyone's ATK up to 15% & removes Fear.

The second is with Neutral Proration.
L Boomerang, Rampage/Berserk deals damage,
but also inflicts AND relies on Neutral Proration.

Shut Out
100 MP Cost
Skill Multiplier: 15(20 with FTS inflicted)
Skill Constant: 100
Simple attack with a slow, lingering animation.


Aura Blade
200 MP Cost
Skill Multiplier: 15
Skill Constant: 200
Simple AoE attack that's pretty slow.
I wonder if it can be sped up...

Buster Blade
300 MP Cost
Skill Multiplier: 10(+ STR ÷ 100)
Skill Constant: 300
This attack always lands critical hits.
It's also usable up to 7 meters.
Good for bosses with Critical Resistance,
or you can't stay within 3 meters.


Sword Tempest
400 MP Cost
Wave Multiplier: 2.5 + (1 + STR ÷ 500)
Tornado Multiplier: 1
Total Multiplier: Up to 10.52 (11.52)
This skill can be used from up to 12 meters.
It deals 7 individual hits(8 with a Registlet).
Interestingly, it also inflicts Magical Proration.

Meteor Breaker
Skill Multiplier[First Hit]: 8 + (BaseSTR ÷ 1000)
Skill Multiplier[Second Hit]: 6
Skill Constant[First Hit]: 600
Skill Constant[Second Hit]: 0
Total Multiplier: Up to 14.51
This skill is if you need a quick I-frame WHILE dealing damage.
The I-frame gets shorter with more Motion Speed.

Warning: Explaining THESE skills is going to be exhausting.

Lunar Slash
400 MP Cost
Skill Multiplier(First Hit): 10
Skill Multiplier(Second Hit): STR ÷ 100
Total Multiplier: Up to 15.1
Skill Multiplier(Stacks): STR ÷ 100
Skill Constant(First Hit): 400
Skill Constant(Second Hit): BaseINT ÷ 2
Skill Multiplier(Stacks): BaseINT

This skills is good as long as you can stay in range.
It deals 2 separate hits,
& create stacks that can deal extra damage.
The amount of stacks made depends on your Combo.

Ogre Slash
Skill Multiplier(First Hit): (BaseSTR + BaseVIT) ÷ 100
Skill Constant(First Hit): DEX
Skill Multiplier[AoE Hit]: 2 x (Stacks Consumed)
Skill Constant[AoE Hit]: 500
Total Multiplier[Skill Only]: Up to 27.65
The Ogre goes Berserk, & on a Rampage

FYI: This is a severely underestimated skill.
To this very day when mentioned,
people STILL think this is a "trash skill".
However, that is not the case at ALL.

This skill is best when you're either tanking,
or you KNOW you'll be taking damage in parties.
This skill works in tandem with Rampage & Berserk.

Note: We are meant to play with fire.
Anyone refusing to use these skills are nerfing their own damage.
Why?
Berserk: out of control with anger or excitement; wild or frenzied.

Rampage: to rush around in a violent and uncontrollable manner.

We are the LITERAL Equivalent of an offensive tank.
Unlike One Handed Swords, we have a lot more focus on damage at the cost of our defenses.

Dark Power Skills
Survivability-Focused

This works best for STR>VIT users.
2H natural have inherent Guard.
It also has skills that heal you BY dealing damage.
Dark Power Skills focus on survivability & damage.
It requires you to know how to take hits,
& how to manage your HP in bat
tle.

Partisan Skills
Support- Focused

This works best for STR>DEX users.
As we deal less damage in range,
this skills can help you maintain damage in parties.
However, they work best in a party,
& require you to understand Proration.

L Boomerang(I-III)
These inflict & are affected by Normal Proration.
This means it decreases its own damage if you:
- Spam any L Boomerang Skills
- Do any auto attacks

However, its damage increases if:

- Anyone uses Magical Skills beforehand
- Anyone uses Physic
al Skills beforehand​

 

Recommendations for 2H Build

Recommended Stats
Do you care more about soloing or parties?

Soloing(Gladiator Build)
Normal Mode
STR: 500 || VIT: 255
In exchange for less Stability, you can take more hits.
But without Stability from gear,
your damage will be inconsistent, especially with Grazes.

Party DPS(Berserker Build)
Hard Mode
STR: 500 || DEX: 255
In exchange for less MaxHP, your damage is more stable.
But without enough MaxHP or Resistance from gear,
your Guard will break easily & you can die easily.
