The Phantom Slash Regislet doesn't work like you think it does

So I saw a lot of people being excited over the phantom slash boost or complaing that it is too overtuned. But the regislet works in fact very different to how you might think it works.

I obtained the regislet, got it to 20 and tested it on good old alto:
Dmg without Regislet: 109397/hit
Dmg with Regislet: 125025/hit

So the dmg increases by "only" about 14.3% instead of the expected 100%. Why is that? So the term damage is very misleading in this case. The 100% damage refer to 'base damage' and not your 'final damage'. Phantom slash has a multiplier of 7 at lv 10. The regislet adds +1 to the multiplier (aka you do 100% more base damage). This leads to a dmg increase of 8/7=~14.3% which perfectly fits with my test.

So what damage increase can the other skills that get +100% dmg from regislets expect?
Magic Wall: 66% (as long as the regislet also works as multiplier per hit)
Smash: 66%
Earthbind: 46.5% (if full AGI)
Dragon Tail: 25% for the 2nd hit and 20% total

 

That's still good, like if it was final damage it would be OP.

 

yeah i dont think the regislets should be that broken. if anything, just buff the skill if they need to be

i still think the meikyo one is busted unless there's a catch to it as well

 

There is because the crit only applies to auto attacks and not to skills

 

Sad, to avoid confusions they should've just called it "power" like they do for skills

 

I though ppl use meikyo > any combo to increase the next skill critical rate.

it works once but the next skill won't get the crit buff again.

In my opinion phantom slash power 100% doesn.t mean multiple or dmg but it is the skill constant +100%

 

"power" refers to the multiplier, "skill power" to the constant and "final damage" to the modifier.

based on the observed effect, it should be "power +100%", which increases the multiplier by +1.
if the english description actually reads "damage +100%" it is likely a mistranslation, since they use different terms in the japanese version.
