Hi, I am interested in leveling a blacksmith character but I honestly am not too clear on what I have to do. Does anyone know of a guide I can read to deepen my understanding on efficiently creating a BS Character? Thank you.

high potential staff = cap ur character, stat dis should be int > tec
refining, all refining skills should be at lvl 10 on a full tec char for refining 0 to A. then u need a 2nd char with full luk and lv1 in refine from A to S. the rest is all luk

I see, thank you. Also, what should I get my proficiency to before its enough? Also, I heard that putting points into tec reduces potential of craft, is that true?

Also, does this mean that even with max Int, my craft won't be high potential unless my level is capped?

that's y u put full int first then leftover stat into tec.
in order to add stat points into int, u need to lvl ur char therefor when u cap your char, you can achieve maximize potential. idk what's the highest pot right now on staff since i don't have a staff bs. Even though the guides i sent are old, the base information is the same and is still applies to current. i recommend a read if u havent already

and yea, even if u max int...n ur lvl is under 189 i think, u won't get max pot. cause at lv189 ur stat cap increases to 510. so that's why i recommend u to cap char to get even more points in int

You don't really need to have a capped bs to know what's max pot achievable for your cap stats.

If you pick all three potential skills, you get 30% extra potential from base, plus potential gain from stats.

For instance, highest base potential for staff is 41 (piton/spirit), so one would have 82 pot if 290 int.
