Title, I want to know what are the main strengths and weaknesses of each sub weapon 1HS can use (Dagger, MD, Shield, etc.), but mostly important, can said niche compare with 2HS brute force? Also no need to only talk about the best subs, you can also talk about the less effective choices such as 1H + Knuckle & 1H + Arrow and explain why they are that, less effective.

    Shield:
aspd is reduced by 50%. Shield Mastery can restore it.
refinement is possible, and provides the same bonus as armor refinement.
    you can use Guard.

you get a bonus to Knight skills,
making them stronger than 2h despite 1h being the weaker weapon.
Shield skills enhance defense, hp and resistance. you get 2 100% stun skills and Guard Power enhances the damage of Guard Strike.

    Dagger:
no negative side effects, but the dagger's weapon atk only applies to Dagger skills.
    you can use Evasion.

you get a bonus to Assassin skills.
Dagger skills can deal 'true damage' scaling with the dagger's weapon atk. Dagger skills have low multipliers, so most of their power comes from stat boni and dagger weapon atk. as a low power/high speed weapon, 1h is benefits more from this than halberd or staff.

    MD:
atk is reduced by 15%. Magic Warrior Mastery lessens this to 5% and provides a little magic power.
you can use Evasion. Evasion Recharge does not increase but you get a bigger stack.
weapon stats don't apply, except for element and refinement for certain Magic Warrior skills.

you can use Wizard and Magic Warrior Skills. (the latter is exclusive to this sub weapon.)
you get a bonus on Magic and some Priest skills.

    Knuckles:
    matk decreases by 15%.
    weapon stats don't apply.

you get a bonus to Martial skills.

    Arrow:
    def/mdef reduces by 25%.
the arrow's weapon atk, stability and element only apply to Shot skills.

you can use Shot skills and get a bonus to Hunter skills.

knuckles provide utility, and scale with AGI, but won't increase damage output in general.

arrows unlock long distance attacks with extra effects, but the damage is lower than sword attacks. (obviously)
traps can intercept approaching mobs to gain distance, the other Hunter skills cannot be used with swords.
