As of right now, any usable skill books(those that cant be learnt in library) can only be learnt from the character that is using the book and that consumes the book which to me, seems rather wasteful as it feels more like other consumables and not a book.
I think it would be better if the skill book that we get from treasure chests are in 'degraded' or 'unidentified language' and the player can bring it to the library to restore the books for a cost and it will belong to the library so any character can learn it just like other skills without having to buy more than 1 book from CB

what do you all think? is this a good idea?

not really, as it would make duplicates useless.
and also it's kinda like adding synthesis recipes for boss crystas.

but it would be cool if books were like crysta skills.
each book holds 1 specific skill and you can equip (and unequip) it on 1 character to be able to use that skill.
skills would have ranks and the total rank of all equipped books/scrolls cannot exceed a certain threshold, based on character level.
so it's basically an alternate skill system for unique abilities that doesn't take skill points.
but then again, this is far better than star gems, so it's totally not gonna happen...

it would be somewhat helpful if the synthesis recipes for books were permanent.

Would be better if Skill books never existed and were implemented on the library like all the other skills normally do.
It's soooooo fun to wait for a new class skills only to discover you have to be rich to get ONE PIECE of them >: D (L O V E I T)...

i personally think its gonna waaaay more better if we can get those skill book from quest (that have class change vibe), so at least after we got one.., we can use it otherwise there's a chance that we can sell it if we dont want to be that spesifict class

I'm happy with the way it is.

Unless you know from word of mouth, it's an unknown discovery, and good for the in game economy. It's supposed to have some sort of mystery / difficulty involved. Unsure why people just want everything right away, rather than learning how the game works. It should be character specific, as each slot is considered a separate character.

Maybe if the books were referred to as magical, and they had an animation that exploded... and deleted all your characters with blacksmithing or alchemy.. then that would be great.

    skill changes would be nice.
like reading the Dragon Scroll magically enchants (or curses?) your character with dragon powers and certain skills now have different effects on that character.
not necessarily an upgrade, it just replaces skills with other skills to make that character unique from the rest.
this way, Book of Darkness could convert priest skills to dark skills. bless to curse, holy light to dark stinger, ect.

the current skill system is pretty much okay for me no need to change it

those "consumable books" isnt a core weapon thats why its not been implemented in library.
Also more reason to grind those treasure chest and guild maze.

toram has the freedom of choice of what skill books/ or specific skill that u would want to use

I'm more happy if suzuki-san giving some thought to make npc that could give some detailed information about each of the skills. They could separate the npc for each of skill tree, make some of em only accessible in time limited event, and needed to complete a small side-quest to make the information accessible with some good chunk of exp. This way people will still be interested in completing the side quest since rebalance will atleast happen once every year, thus refreshing the information and the exp reward will become another reason for people not avoiding the quest. Ofc the side quest must not repeatable and bound to each char per event time.

Damnit suzuki, you should see my post, if your game skill information is too damn abstract, no one willing to buy your goddamn expensive book of oblivion. At least give us a small amount of easiness when we're willing to buy that goddamn book
