One of the way to depends your aggro is how much total MP you spent.
When you have higher aggro, the boss will chase you.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why does the boss chase the mage , archer or support even though the warrior/tank hit the boss first?
    - when the warrior hits the boss, of course the boss will focus him but when you spent more MP than the warrior does, you will increase the chance for the boss to chase you.
You cast a spell = Building up your aggro
As a warrior, you should try to use as much MP as possible ( so it won't chase other players )
As a mage and archer , be aware of how much MP you spent.
As a support, your skills cost a lot of MP, you should Not turn on your support skills right begin of the fight, because as you spam your benefit effects, the boss will just come give you a gently "kiss" and turn off all your effects.

Don't mind me, my English not really good
If this is not clear or having questions, feel free to ask :p

Spending more MP definitely has nothing to do with aggro.

Your advice for warriors is terrible and completely off. If the warrior in your group is not maintaining aggro it is because they are not using the skills provoke or rage sword. When those skills are used a mage can cast all the spells they want and will never get aggro.

Brawler attacks have high aggro generation due to the stuns/flinches/etc and will typically hold aggro over any melee except a tank using high level provoke/rage sword or a max dps 2h sword.

It sounds like you have/are playing in poor groups without a tank. Warrior /= tank. You need to have specific skills, once again Provoke or Rage sword from the Knight skill tree to be a tank and maintain aggro.

Huh, so it's due to MP usage? I always thought it depended on damage done to the boss which is why the boss will eventually go after the archer/mage. I guess MP usage and damage are directly related anyway. If the tank just has to keep using MP to maintain aggro then this will make my boss runs much quicker...

This guide is way off put, Aggro is maintained not from MP usage but in terms The person either useing high aggro skills, or whom ever is putting out the most damage PER hit (let me explain that.. you read that and think... well why isn't mage taking aggro at all times) Typically this means the person carrying the most damage out put on single hits will generally carry the most aggro. Mages aside, since mages can't crit with magic(with the exeption of a mge tank setup).. in terms My Archer and my max dps Warrior usually becomes the tank of the parties if the tank isn't very fluent will provoke or RS because I hit well over 1k normal hits and hit high 6k+ average crits... while mages normally have solid 1-4k hits depending on gear set up, A bosses aggro is maintained to the person Causing most threat being the tank with aggro based skills "provoke/rage sword" or max dps warriors due to high phys hit and major crit damage. And as stated above. Flinch/Knock Downs/Stuns all contribute to Aggro gain.

As the beginning i said one of the way to depends aggro is how much MANA you spent.
Also i shouldve add some more information to yall which i didnt and now you guys judge me. ( thats why i said ask me if any questions but NOT by attacking me with words.)

Theres mainly three ways to depends the AGGRO :
First = is the effect by what you said stun/flinch/ poison or whatever
Second = how much total MANA you spent as i said
Third = how much damage you deal to the monster

which means effects will depends the most aggro and then how much MANA you spent and the last is how much damage you deal
    First > Second > Third

"Also as you said about the knight skill"
Provoke - if you max this skill , it can build up 1500 mp as aggro ( which means you use 200 mp can build just like you used 1500 mp)
Rage Sword - a skill can build up to 500 mp as aggro

As i said i didnt say aggro is only depends on mana usage, its one of the way

Yeah and i shouldnt make it to be a guide , and i shouldve post it into general discussion but i asked someone but he or she said to post it here.
Also theres no post about aggro in this forum and i just started this post.

If i'm a noob then i think those japanese and chinese are noobs too because i read those guides and brought it to here which no one does.

    Anymore questions or problems?
And dont use offensive words next time.

Send me a link to this Jap mana aggro guide, MP usage has nothing to do with aggro gain except the fact that you use it to use the skills.

    1. We didn't attack you but rather the bad information you had provided.
    2. You didn't present your information in a way as if to engage in debate where we should ask questions. This would have been done by stating your comments as "I've noticed in my experience that when I spend more Mana than the tank I get aggro...etc...etc...what do you think?" You stated your comments as definitive facts which do not agree with any of our actual game experience. This is having played as a 50 tank, 50 dps, 50 brawler, and lvl 50 mage.
    3. Your second point is still wrong. This is a very misleading statement to say that just spending mana generates more aggro than damage. Damage > mana points spent (which again is very vague and undefined). Look at the example you provided for provoke and rage sword, which I find suspect. Playing with max provoke vs someone with max rage sword, rage sword will definitely generate more aggro (with the bonus of doing damage).
    4. You give an aggro "guide", and I use that term loosely that doesn't mention the actual skills designed for gaining aggro and then only respond with them after we have pointed out to you they exist.
    5. Your ideas were presented in a poor fashion which is what people are questioning. There may be validity to what you say, especially if you are basing off of some research done somewhere. It was not presented in a comprehensible way that made it clear what you were trying to communicate for the previous reasons.

He's sort of right I suppose.

Aggro isn't generated by using MP, but rather by the skills you spend it on. Aggro or 'threat' are generated by either high damage output, frequent status interrupts like stun/flinch, certain support skills, or skills designed to generate aggro like provoke or rage Blade.

The reason a mage can steal aggro from a warrior who attacked first is because the mage is consistently causing more damage than the warrior, so the bosses focus changes. Same with healers, skills like revive and mini heal and casting any aura will generate high threat as well, and if the warrior isn't putting out a ton of damage or using aggro skills like provoke/rage Blade, the boss will again change focus.

So in some way yeah, spending MP is related to aggro, but its not what creates it in and of itself

If a member posts wrong information, everyone can give their edits to make the original post correct. Let's try to keep is friendly please.

If you wish to post a guide, please check the information or make sure you have tested it yourself. Lots of users will check it out without reading the comments below to know the guide is not all correct and that can lead them to a lot of wasted time in game.

    Simple aggro rule ....
-tank skill such provoke , rage draw aggro ( usually this skill draw more aggro than other skill , but tanker without aggro EQ need to watch it or aggro will switch to other player )
-Status skill can also draw aggro ( archer moeba shot draw a lot aggro)
-Support skill also Give a lot aggro ( all boss minion will focus in you )
-High damage can draw boss too ( over damage will draw boss attention )

thats aggro system on every game

okay, im grinding boss colon for stat boost emblems and here's what i find:
    char A: auto atk 100dmg
    char B: bless lv1
im giving atk, tank and break to char A and support to char B.
what happens is, i let char A deals 400-500 auto atk dmg to the boss then have char B use bless lv1 and what happen is char B stole aggro all the time.

scratch my head a bit.. then i just take it as it is.

then i stumble upon this thread.. after reading it i thought why not try it? so then..
char A: magic arrow lv1, auto atk 100dmg
    char B: bless lv1
char A barely does 100 total dmg with magic arrow, but then as it happens char A kept the aggro firmly. and interestingly even when the magic arrow was flinched by the boss the aggro stays on char A.. so even when magic arrow does 0dmg due to being flinched, it still holds aggro against bless which a 500dmg auto atk couldn't do.

i came to a personal conclusion that total damage plays very little parts on aggro generation, mp/skill plays a lot more. im yet to test on status effects, but the few exp i had with my lv51 archer having 3 status effects on my combo chain(stumble, slow and paralysis) makes me no longer wonder why i often stole aggro even when there is higher damaging mages and tanks on my boss farm party.

my sincere thanks goes to keith for going thru the trouble of sharing this knowledge.

don't qoute me on this cos I'm not sure either- but I think agrro does have to do with mp usage and perhaps damage. say you use 6mp skill same time as someone who uses a 4mp skill your probably gona take agrro. also there comes into play how much damage being dealt, status effect skills that produce more aggro and certain skills that naturally have high provoke parameters like provoke an rage sword.
so I'm not quite sure atm either how exactly it works but would be nice if someone could reveal to us CD

AFAIK the information provided by OP is correct. Using combos with high MP usage results in more aggro. During boss battles, the first hit made by a player generates 200 aggro (CMIIW) then consecutive auto-attacks generates 100 aggro.

Its ok, i just want detailed information XD
So if im not wrong thia is what i learn
    1. 1st attack will give bonus +200 aggro
    2. All skill cast will give u same as how much normal mana cost (ignore save or consecutive)
    3. Normal attack give 100 aggro each attack
    4. Aggro depend on enemy (not player char), because at ganglef, when i use magic support after my party got ganglef aggro, the minions going after me but the ganglef didnt..
That make me think aggro is based on the enemy not the player char

    Is that my opinion right?

This thread makes me sad. He was right the entire time but got grilled becuz he was way ahead of the curve while no one knew much about aggro.
