Best attacking skill for a Tech BS/Alchemist (no lvl 4 skills) ?

Hello @NADIE, if u are looking for skill to lvl up bs up to 150...tbh i agree with @Katzblazer. Its better to maxing ur main/favorite char to max (at least 150)b4 starting tec bs.

But, if you really wanna make tec bs without tier 4 then, these are my suggestion:
1) Prorator
- rampage user using any gears with hp. Your contribution will be prorating while dealing (a little) damage to enemy. If you have enough sp, you can try spam warcry combo for holding aggro... For those who know how to control their aggro, they will be pleased with u. (calculate the necessary sp for making aggro combo by yourself at coryn)

2) Tank
- if you are refiner, you can spent some stat to vit or make vit your 2nd stat. Choose knuckle tank, use provoke as main aggro generator. (farm drill for tank) gear should be hp and resistance. Find any that you can make/buy. *this build is not really recommended by me, just for fun/reference*

3) Dps
- you are tec, forget trying to deal high dmg. Low to moderate should be enough (around 20~50k with tier 3 skill).

I suggest to take bow (assuming you will lvling in pt). Learn how to dodge, aggro control, and dpsing while lvling should be good. For gear just use anything you can get. Your pt usually will aware if you are tec build (at least i will usually notice).

Katana is fun, but you will die alot b4 mastering zantei so, prepare to be beaten by your party. Gear? Anything will do as long as its katana, and get some hp gear.

Good hp gear usually is additional (e.g.:tapir hood)

 

Believe me katz, her english is greatly improving since first time i saw her. At least now its readable.

 

What do you do If you dont have lvl 4 skills ?
to answer this, i need to ask, why do you need to make a tec? for refine? you only need 255 tec for this, so any weapon is fine, its better to use weapon that u already have to reduce the cost, to make potion? same as refine you only need 255 tec & enough proficiency, any weapon is fine, if you have acquired all stat emblem (until 155) around lvl 78-80 you will get max tec, to become stater? for this you need highest level possible, currently 160 to get the highest stats available (16), you also need to make a luck mage to farm the mats, personnaly for this i will suggest you to unlock lvl4 skills first.

I have tried leveling a tec with CF myself (tec/dex) with my 2h gears except the bow, all 1s (except arm 2s) +B bow, all gears have proper xtalls in it (tyrant, york, icon, etc). At 150 my damage output to Super Death Mushroom is only around 200k-300k with fully charged CF & 90k-110k snipe. The problem is, as tec we do not have enough skill points to get all the skills needed, at 150 i did not have enough sp to take decoy, or magic arrow, this was really a problem. This is the reason i suggest finale, less sp needed, and you do not need to bother about crit.

I reset my tec/dex into tec/int. Why? after i read information from the internet & asking peoples, the reason tec take dex as 2nd stat is for proficiency. After i tried it myself, tec already gave enough proficiency (127 prof) at level 160 you will get 167 dex with that u will got another 27 proficiency. Actually, you dont need that high, unless you aim for 4 locks, which means you will make orichalcum and stuff, this will cost you millions of spina, i do not recommend it for now. I was trying to become a crafter too with this tec char, the result is a disapointment, waste of sp & resources to make "low pot" gears. As for potions it is basically the same, not all potions from alchemy can gave bonus items based on proficiency. Thing is, most of potions needed by players right now does not affected by proficiency (tera speed, power candy, etc). And for me the most benefit from proficiency craft from alchemy is only revita, but as we know energy bottle is more profitable than revita5. For this reason, i do not need dex for proficiency anymore, so i shift it to int for more damage for my finale.

When i lvled up my luck mage, i realized how easy finale is, no mp problem, aggro is manageable with certain gears & pot, no need to bother about crit, and i could take survival skills tree for more hp & mp. But, if you still insist to only use lvl3 skills, i'd recommend nc and/or good attacker mercenary. As for your tec char itself you only need to spam a combo or skills to prorate your mercenary & accompany.

Just go mage bro u can support ur super op finale or cf party with support skills till u reach 150 then add finale to the mix.
Dont listen to ktn fans its good class but u need odelon odelon and freaking odelon to output high dmg.
Archer is good choice but not recommended and yeah find a guild which can help u lvl up.
And yeah just lvl ur main charc first till 150 now u have access to nukes (finale) even with crappy gears finale dmg is insane (higher than any class in terms of burst dmg).

 

Why are u recommending a freaking ktn to newbie player for dex tech bs. No offense dont post crappy advices which are counterproductive and give guy stress and anxiety. How many people u know add ktn to a pt when they are serious abt lvling coz i dont. And the s.s u posted i can guarantee it was lucky shot.

what in the world.....it probably wasnt hard at the beggining because at the time no one HAD LVL 4 TIER SKILLS and the level cap was diferent, hence the most requested class was diferent. We are now 150+, katana is useless for newbies.
If it works for you that's great....that doesnt mean it will work for other people....what are you bragging about? everyone has a katana at this level......everyone just spams tenryu.

Well I am not worried about getting kicked out of parties just becuse I don't have lvl 4 skills. That can happen as well with my main char which is katana... but after reading all your post I have decided to level that main char first.

The purpouse of the tech bs/alchemist was to be able to 3 Lock and sell dyes, refine, and after that just keep leveling it up to become a stater.
Then for a mage. Would it be better to put the stat points on tech/int rather than tech/dex as @Desandra suggested ?

 

Ru what about your gear? Were you using xtals for your damage tests?

I think snipe is best for a character below 150
Fast charge time and does pretty good damage

I definitely do not recommend katana
Although it has high modifiers for the skills, as stated before you'd die sooner before you can master it

The amount of kicks you'd get would be discouraging

Bow for snipe
Katana is eh, good but need practice

what ever tec bs u chose. i easy now for lvl up the bs char to lvl 80 use new feature. do mq from start. and make it to full tec. so you can help rifne your equipment u use on main char at last to +E or +D. so another cant say you just leecing and not do any damage cuz u katana user to

 

Yes, for 3lock, Tec>Int is enough.

well i just lucky can get modestia and i put tyrant xtal on the wepon.
well i do arguments cuz i fell it by my self when fight tyrant
with 3 mamber
mage lvl 3 skill
hb lvl 3 skill
and 2hn lvl3 skill
and i just have zentai to counter damage when fight tyrant. magadachi to deffend to.

 

Refine modestia to +S (or at least +C, or E..) before putting any xtall in it or else caro tesla +C is still better.

i know how important to have self rifiner bs cuz i grow with untrade able gear. so i can keep up my damage when not have lvl 4 skill . even for now i have it all gear

that why i always give another argument when you guys say early bs not importan. cuz i know what the feel cant have proper + gear cuz on zaldo the max u get just + 8

cant buy good gear on cb cuz u dant have spina. i know what that feel
must farm mat to carf armor an another think. that why i dont blindly rush to get high lvl. i carf it all step by step. that why i say it again early bs is important.

at last i m not die on pt when fight bos cuz dont have proper equip. that all i do befor joint pt to lvl up on bos or mini bos. so i never fell get kick cuz i m katana user

 

Tbh early bs isn't so important
I made my way to 150 without high refine gear

But if its a must have for op then he can go for it, but he must have resources for refining at least (not too hard but gotta say that)
As long as he has it at 100 prof for alchemist he can do good dye transfers and apps
Doing +C refine might end up costing him more to do on his own than if he bought it from CB or another refiner

As someone who struggled with HB and spina, who had to claw his way up farming, playing smart and gambling I can say for sure a +E refine is enough
Some people sell for 100k and some even do it for free
I'm one such person who wouldn't mind doing a +E for free

And no I'm not rich x.x

I just know the struggles of being a newb, being scammed and struggling to reach a point where I can be useful as an HB
