Build help

Yeah, i know i know. Plenty of other threads out there asking the same question, and plenty of thread describing builds.
This is me giving examples of what i'm looking for and seeing if anything fits.
I honestly don't care too much of taking attacker rank every time, but i definitely want to do damage.
I like being survivable, but that can be mitigated by killing stuff fast enough that they never hit you.
I like the idea of tanking, but once again, i want to do damage.
I love AOE farming, but i still want to be able to farm bosses. I guess in this regard, i'm more worried about bosses but i am going to be leveling this from 1 with hardly any help so i want to be able to farm.
I've tried every class. I have a lv 35 mage but i feel like its going the wrong direction. or to be honest, i'm kinda bored with it. I also feel like i'm handling my skills wrong, so that might be my issue here.
I love spellblade classes in other games. Anything that blends magic and weapons is ok in my book.
I was thinking about trying it here, but i'm kind of lost as to how to distribute stats while leveling and which skills to get when.
I'm really not 100% stuck on it being a sword. was thinking knuckles and MD but i've seen threads basically saying to stay away from that so idk...
Any help is greatly appreciated. If theres nothing that fits perfectly, its ok. Just trying to find the closest thing to what i'm looking for.

I don't have much experience with magic swordsman builds on toram but an idea you could look into to fulfill your desire to tank + dish out damage is the tanky 2h route, Vit as a secondary stat and if built well enough is still a top tier dps, not sure if you like 2h though. Or you could go with the shield mage route which has pretty high dps, can tank if setup well, and a supporter as well plus you can level it easy. Knuckle + MD, I'd say not yet, that's more a late game build unless you have the spina I'd say its not worth it yet, but if you want to do it go for it

If you're up to date with mq for you wanting to be tank + dps I'd say shield Mage, as you can use boss drops till you make spina and still do decent damage and being help to a party, or if you want to have more of a tank role but less damage 1hs + shield could be the way to go

 

I love sheild mage. That's my main's type. And still pumps out decent damage and can still take atk rank even with out dated gears.

For dmg it depends on the boss.. 2hs and halberd usually come to mind when i think of dmg.... but depends some bosses like empress or vlog mages kick ass ...

 

Other than this also depends on your playsyle... if you want a spam build id go with halberd since the astute spam nerf for 2hs... if you like portrate more then go with a bow or 2h/1h... u can still go for a halberd if you portrate... yeah
