Do Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries around that area have standardized spelling?

A lot of people like to make fun of the spelling skills that some players in this game have because of how terrible they can be at it (halbred, extall, and nurethot would all be examples) but one thing I learned recently was that not all languages have standardized spelling, and that all you need to do in those languages is get the sound right when you spell, which is why they may be prone to misspelling words in other languages. Is this the case for the languages of some of the people that play this game, or are they just lazy? I don't mean to start a fight with this, because I know threads about people's nationalities can go sour on this site, but I literally can't find my answer anywhere else.

Its not their first language, and I don't think its really a big deal for mispelling, especially in an MMO. As long ideas are communicated and understood, that's all there is to it.

From what i experienced, perhaps because:
-They just want to
-Some name are just pain in ass to type
-Mistype, but too lazy to retype it to proper one
-Already used to local pronounciation

Instead of using a cognitive process to see if they're right they just nod their head and say ok.
Proof: Someone asked for A10S10CD1020 on Bowgun. Upon being asked why not dex they said STR because more attack. Bowgun gets not gain from str beyond stability and a very small amount of CD. They were indo (ofc)

You're clearly being racist. Not having knowledge about the game isn't something exclusive for indos. He either asked someone or saw a random youtuber saying this, so he suppose it's true. Many people act like that, it isn't indo exclusive. The reason this may seems only indos are like this is because the game itself mainly has indos, so it's why they get associations like this here and there, but this isn't but a mistake.

 

Considering the fact that you can explain something to the anywhere else while most indos won't bother to try learning because they're right, I'll take my chances in being offensive.

Maybe I'm just tired of seeing them stubbornly be right all the time from how they say things or do things or their own racism to anyone else that they gleefully ignore, but when you have your own culture of people having to apologise for the toxicity and voicing their own desire to not be part of their own culture, I think I'm a bit more than right. Probs not, but most likely am

Woops, this isn't quite how I wanted this thread to go. The main thing that has me asking whether or not the languages around that part of the world have standardized spelling is because I want to understand the people in this game better, not hate on them. It makes sense not to worry too much about how well your writing is in an in-game chat because you don't always have time to do that, but the main thing that has me wondering this is that many of Toram's YouTubers have such terrible spelling in their videos, which is something where you have time to sit down and make sure everything is correct. Sometimes a word in a YouTube video will be misspelled even though it is right there in the game. Is it just not a normal thing to worry about how you spell things in that part of the world?

 

There was once a trend in the Philippines where people intentonally misspells words for fun. We called them Jejemons. They became extinct after several months.

 

I think it's important to note that indos take up a huge portion of the Toram population, especially in int. You probably come across a lot of misinformed indos because well, there are a lot of indos. You naturally interact with a lot of indos, which would include some ignorant ones, and psychologically those negative experiences are more memorable and thus you retain that encounter more strongly. This cycle repeats as you naturally interact with more indos and thus you start to develop this view. This is called bias. Indos are misinformed in this game, but so is almost everyone else. Look at how many idiots there are in English. But your brain probably doesn't recognize it as frequently because 1). if you grind in int, you'll most likely encounter more indos and 2). Indos generally have weaker English than English speakers so you recognize the Indos more prominently but see the misinformed English people as simply being misinformed randos as you are unable to assign them to a group.

Again, the population of Indos in Toram is pretty significant. I've come across so many "OP" players that are Indo, cheaters that are Indo, casual players that are Indo, toxic players that are Indo, and ignorant people that are Indo. I've seen Indos argue and disagree. But this is just like any other nationality I've encountered. I cannot even count the amount of misinformation, ignorance, or stubbornness I've seen in English. Not to mention how Americans are culturally very argumentative. It's humans, not necessarily Indos.

I don't think you are racist at all. I'll admit that Toramers and generally most people in this world are severely ignorant or miseducated on a variety of topics in any country. But I think you have a bias.

This I do have admittedly. 5 years of this and having the sentiment of repeated "I'm right, always right, I am completely infallible" attitude stretching from multiple games and chats and forums has almost solidified this to me excluding a select few. And when I say select few, I mean really small amount

 

I don't even care if they speak Indo to each other as long as they can speak English to me even though their English are bad. If they just keep speaking to me in Indo, I force them to speak English by speaking Chinese/Vietnamese to them. About the misspelling, mostly they misspell because they (lazy to change it back/used to it/want it just for fun/trolling), don't be so harsh on them by forcing them spell correctly because English is not their mother language and some of them don't wanna use English as well, native speakers still have some problems about spelling some words too.

Just don't be so harsh. That's my advice.

 

In the case of youtube videos, it can be considered that its difficult for ESL/ETL speakers to do spell checking and even grammar checking as they make subs. Yes, even the words ingame such as Xtals/Skill names/etc.
I had experience writing letters/essays in a foreign language, and I'd often mispell names because I'm not used to the unique combination of letters.

 

More Indo kiddo play this game without pray respect to others country.

They do as their want to do coz they know more of them playing this game.
This make them don't care to speak Indo lang in every server.

 

There is no really point giving counterpoints. This seems a matter of opinion and culture. I'm neither indo or american. Racism is crime on my country, so seeing these types of comments usually bothers me, but I understand that anyone can have a different reaction about it, even if they're from my own country. If you already have formed opinion about something, it isn't a game forum post that will change it.
